Okuma X rods are Amazing thread talk

Featured Replies

Have you guys felt these in hands yet?

These blanks are amazingly light.  I'm a big Loomis guy and I gotta say they are lighter than my NRXs.  Can't wait to here from your guys experiences.

I have the 7' 3" H/F. I fished a weightless Senko on it a lot last weekend and had no issues launching it. I had to do it to get the bait behind the grass lines and then needed the heavy rod to drag t

I had a Psycho Stick that I liked before I sold it. Never tried the X-Series but they look like sweet rods

Never been able to get 1 in my hands as no one has a full Okuma FW line around here, but I've heard they're a real sleeper.  They went on sale last winter  @180$, when I was in the hospital.  Had my diagnosis been better I would have bought 1, but at the time I didn't know if I would recover completely or not.  Was hoping to see the same sale on them this year, but no luck, so I wound up with an M1, which feels nice.

Would like to here about them as well. I have a couple Helios rods that are a few ticks lighter than the X listed weights.

These rods are amazing. Super light, quality components, very sensitive. And to top it all off they look amazing. I really hope they're doing well for them.

I have the 7'3 MH which weighs in at 4.05 oz and the 7'6 heavy, which comes in at 4.37 oz. For comparison, the 7'2 MH Expride B weighs 4.28 oz.

Just got my hands on the X-Series Spinning Rod, and wow—this thing is next level! 🎣💨 Super light, ultra-sensitive, and built with top-tier components—plus, it just looks amazing! If you haven’t checked these out yet, you’re missing out. Hope they’re crushing it with this lineup because these blanks are hot!

Which Powells? I weighed both of my newer model Endurance rods and the online weights were about 1oz less than the actual scale weight.

example: 765 online said 3.7 my scale says 4.7 ...similar outcome with my 683

Anyone able to compare these to the Dobyn’s champion extreme hp?

I definitely want 1  or 2,or 3.dog smiling GIF

Same had old 705CB weighed in 4.7oz vs what they stated 3.3oz. False Advertising for sure!

They are insanely light. I couldn’t believe it when I picked mine up for the first time. The sensitivity is excellent and they look great. Really just a great all around package.

How does the sensitivity compare to other rods? What would you compare it to?

It is right on the same level with the Kistler Helium.

That’s impressive. These have really piqued my curiosity.

To be clear, are you talking about the NFC blank helium?

Also, does anyone know where these are made? Just curious!

haven’t tried the X series, but I think I slightly preferred the 7’2” MF Psycho Stick I used to have compared to the DX743 I have now. I can only imagine the X series is better

I believe all my Heliums are KC9 blanks

Can anyone post a picture of the reel seat? It says it’s carbon so I’m curious if it looks like carbon or is it just shiny black. Talking about this part:

Ok, that’s what I thought. It’s a carbon reel seat but it’s painted so it doesn’t have the carbon look. Thank you!

It is shiny but you can still see the carbon. Hard to really see in the pics, but it has that dusty/cloudy look to it. It's not like a dark/jet black.
