Weigh in.

I have been watching the weigh in at Fork.  Does anyone know why the anglers always refer to how the day went, and how they hope to do the next day as we did ok, and we need to do better tomorrow.  Why do they always refer to themselves as we.  Who is the other person they are referring to?  Not one anger said I have to adjust, or I will try a different strategy tomorrow.  What am I missing?  Who is the mysterious we?  I thought they competing by themselves.

I never really paid attention to that until you mentioned it, it does get super annoying now that I noticed it. lol I guess they got a mouse in their pocket.

We've watched many weigh-ins over the years and never noticed.  😆

It's actually something I've noticed and put some thought into.

My theory is that they say "we" because most of these guys call upon a team of friends, and family to enable them to fully pursue their dream.

It could be parents that supported them, a wife that stays at home and takes care of 3 young children, a group of fellow anglers that are friends and offer advice and support, basically just personal relationships that anglers feel helped them get on the biggest stage in Bass fishing.

Or in the Johnston brother's case, it literally means we as they compete as a true team, and share everything to include a joint banking account where all purse winnings go into.

@TnRiver46 Drink every time they say “we’ll see what happens”

How about when anglers refer to their baits as him/he? I know Wheeler and his crew always do it. As does Matt Becker.

I refer to baits as dude all the time. "I'm gonna toss that dude up under that dock and catch me a 6 pounder!"

Then when you catch said 6-pounder, you can say WE had a good day.

This. I always thought they were talking about their team when they referred to we.
