Fell out of the boat today.

Dude - as I get older, I realize that the women had it right all this time. Sitting down on the toilet to pee let’s me browse a catalog from BPS for an extra min or two…

Glad you didn’t get seriously injured . I’ve fell off a few times myself , but it’s usually an unexpected burst from the trolling motor. Did you get your rod back ?

Had a good friend fall in the water in the Loxahatchee Preserve in South Florida, and being over 300 pounds and over 70 years old he could not get back in his big ranger boat.  Lucky for him another guy came along and helped him get back in the boat, no inflation device, and totally exhausted.  Another lucky thing that day is, this place has some of the biggest gators in the state of Florida.

Always carry a pee gar in the boat.  Have used a mason jar for over twenty years, works well and easy to wash out.

I was told by conservation officers in Canada that the #1 cause of drowning in Canada is people relieving themselves over the side of the boat. Seeing that most of the waters in Canada seldom warm up enough for swimming, few people get in the water voluntarily so I believed him.

I refuse. My canoe is tippy enough with just me. Bringing a pee gar aboard would be madness, even if these two are already following your advice:

Our grandson wandered by this morning and I corralled him for some help.  Removed rotten tires on camping trailer and retrieved my rod from the lake.  All that was lost was a pair of sunglasses.  I'm a happy camper again.

Happy to hear you had your pdf on, are doing well and retrieved some of the items !

- I fish the vast majority of the time solo and if the water is rough/high wind or lots of jet boats/turbulence I keep my inflatable vest on - I have a ladder at the back of the boat and also have a rope clipped to it, so if I go in the water in rough conditions I can grab the rope and stay with the boat (and it can assist me in climbing back in to the boat) - For peeing I have a big/long funnel and old gatorade bottles, so I can stay on the boat, do my business standing up/discretely, cap the bottle and then dispose of the contents in the porto-potty at the ramp - I like @Glenn WalMart bottle and might invest in one of those - Stay safe everyone !

Oh wow, glad you're OK.

Just raise up the motor and lean on it like you are trying to clean it off.  It works pretty good unless another boat pulls up and asks if you're having problems.

I kind of pride myself on how far I can arch it off the back corner of the boat.  Never fails though that my rods double over half way through.  I'm not sure who is fishing for who?
