872S Arguably the best and most sensitive  bottom contact rod ever made. Senkos in all their rigs live on this set-up. Noticeably more sensitive than even the P5 Windbuster.

Sensitivity is just part of the equation. A big part sometimes, but still. Balance, action, versatility are all part of it. Plus P5 is $150 ish less?

No denying NRX spinning are crazy sensitive. If it's your bag, go get em.

The one you would use the most, based on what you throw the most.  We need to narrow it down.

It will be almost exactly like the 7'5" Talon you have for reference, just an inch longer.

Fisherman's?  Great to have another angler here from my area.

Honestly one of the absolute best rods in the entire series.  You would not be disappointed.

On 82nd, same lot as Pizza Smizza and Panda, I work Monday and Tuesday mornings, stop in. I'll be the guy with the mustache, cant miss me.

first is shaky minnow. I use my TFO for that currently, won my last (only) tournament on that rod. Drop shot would come in second, throw a lot of spinner bait and chatter bait after that. I haven't done much t-rig, only because I'm not familiar with it, but want to, I know there some giants in the tullies. T-rig and pitching is next on my radar to master. oh and yes, I do use FFS (borrowed it off my salmon boat).

Hey I love my Windbuster. It may actually be more versatile than the 872S, but if the windbuster is a 8.5/10 on sensitivity, the 872S is a 10. It's just the ultimate senko rod IMHO.

I find myself using the Windbuster more often than the 872S because my son's commandeered the NRX+, but I'm cool with that.

I have two imx pro models that I use all the time and love: SJR 901S and MBR 903C. Two very different but awesome rods. I would probably pick one of these as NRX offers both models

Thanks for reminding me of that comparison concerning the NRX+ vs the Talon, I keep thinking about that 7’11” rod you saw in the shop.. 🤣😂

any thoughts on the 893c?

Of the ones you have listed that are available 842S or 853C.  842S can do all finesse spinning dropshot, neko, 4" Senko(can do 5" but 4" feels perfect), shaky head, strolling, finesse cranking, jerkbaits, flukes you name it.  853C great bottom contact rod finesse jigs, lightish tx rigs(say 5/16 under), could do chattterbaits if in a pinch, flukes, bubbashot, Senkos.

If I could could choose any it would be my faves 852S and 843C due to way I fish.

If I were given a NRX, it wouldn’t matter the model. I’d say thank you and go fishing.

I always thought the 893 was the best of that whole series.

Depending of course on how heavy of a jig or worm you intend to throw up to a half ounce it’s fine

I would wake up realize it was a dream and go back to sleep.

I can't seem to find its niche in my arsenal... I've yet to discover what it excels at...I actually find it's taper much more like an mbr than it's jwr designation... I've thrown everything from chatterbaits/spinnerbait /shallow cranks/t rig/weightless plastics on it...

so far the 873 CRR is a front runner, might get a poison adrena as well

I think the 893 is the best of the bunch. Up to a half oz jig even spinnerbaits , big wakebaits ect.

I may be in the minority but I never could like the 894 and tried it twice. It's just too tight for me. The 844 fits me much better.

What do you mean by too tight? Like too rigid? Or just the length? I use 844c GLX and it’s sweet for sure but not the best at jig n pig work imo.

A free NRX+? Whoo! I would pick a rod that I would use on every outing. For me that would be NRX+ 902S SJR.

Considering I just bought this rod, I agree.  Feels amazing in my hands but I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

Too stiff.  i like the MBR 844 better for jigs than I do the 894. A lot of guys like the JWR 894 I'm just not part of that group.

852s for smallie all around.

Largie 893c

Walleye-822syr or GLX 863 DSR

River smallie rod 852s or 822syr

872 is overkill for smaller finesse stuff that is use.  But Killer tube heavier jig dragging rod

Definitely a casting jig / worm rod for me although I'm not sure which specific model I'd go with.
