After reading A-Jays posts I can't really fret about our weather here, but I will 🙃

75 degrees here yesterday, now 36 degrees with snow flurries.

Maybe don't use my local Arctic like weather as a barometer for anything except perhaps Siberia and Crazy Town.

🙃

They keep telling me it's going to end eventually. But I'm really concerned that my Qualude stash might not last that long. 🥴 A-Jay

They are predicting a foot of snow here Sat/sun. That’s more than we’ve had combined since Jan 1.

If this weekend's forecast is even half right,

we are going to get hammered with snow.

Like 1-3 inches an hour type stuff—it's a little nuts.

Not even going to post the NWS graphic.

It's too ugly.

😐

Saturday calling for breezy conditions, high of 57 degrees. I will likely get the boat on the water.

Sunday a low of 6 degrees, with a high of just 34 degrees. Winds gusting to between 50-60 MPH(!), and 1-3 inches of snow. 😶

And it's getting worse - they've upped the expected amount for my area to 12"-18" and are issuing blizzard warnings for spots within 30 miles of me.

Well winter finally hit my area. We got 5" of snow at my house. It's widespread across the state. There's blizzard conditions in the mountains, closing all the passes.

It's all good though. It will all go away tomorrow. Temps will be in the 60's later this week.

The cleanup of round one went well.

Standing by for round 2 and this one’s forecast to be a real doozy !

The snow that fell last night was the wettest snow we've had all season. The snowblower became snowspitter and snowplow.

I am pretty sure that when the local forecast is predicting snow totals using feet instead of inches, we're getting buried.

That’s when you feel good about all the $ you spent on the blower.

That’s what they call heart attack snow. My snow blower struggles with it. Comes out of the chute like ketchup.

Good way to describe it. Made me laugh!

Yep. That was our last snow storm. It was like trying to move wet sand. My blower couldn’t do it and it was just shutting it down. The impeller just stopped.

It’s cold here, but everything forecast is rain which is good and what we need. An inch and a half over the next 24 hours and 60-65 degrees should eliminate any ice holdouts to the tune of I’m not even going to do any more recon trips. Next trip out will have the boat on the back.

As predicted, Northern Michigan is closed.

Several miles of highway, certainly all the secondary roads

and everything that is run by people.

(except my snowblower of course.)

Although it's hard to know for sure with the overnight 40-plus mph winds and drifting that caused.

I'd say we're looking at another 12-20 inches on top of what we got two days ago.

Can't even tell I blasted that way (still glad I did though).

The finishing touch is the solid inch of ice capping it all off.

Dogs were sliding on top of it during this morning's constitutional.

Isn't sleet just the best thing ever ?

Looks like this one might take some extra time, so I'm stepping out now

to get a head start.

Well, we officially got 9.5" near me....but the road crews were out most of the time and we can get places. Neighbor dug out the Jetta and will finish the driveway/sidewalks today...I'm in good shape.

Have fun, Andy. evil-0015

We got hammered with heavy rain and 50+ winds Friday night into Sat. Power outages all over. Trees and power lines closing lots of roads. We had no power for 27 hours, some still don't have it and round two is here. The local co-op ran out of poles they replaced so many. More wind and rain today, maybe some ice on the back side. I won't be surprised if the power goes out again.

On a positive note I put the first muskie of 26 in the net Saturday evening. Just a 31" but, I'm happy to have it. T'was the only bite in five trips. They're keeping me humble so far.

That's about what I got too.

Sounds like another inch or two coming tomorrow evening.

I surrender

I started using Snow & Ice a couple years ago, I spray down the chute, bucket, and the shovels before winter and again if they are calling for a lot of, or wet snow. Haven’t had the chute plug since.
