They keep telling me it's going to end eventually. But I'm really concerned that my Qualude stash might not last that long. 🥴 A-Jay

well, the blizzard of '26 has come and gone and we are faring better for it. For once, my local area wasn't the worst hit of the region and we only got 12-14" vs 27" along the coast. We got another inch last night into this morning, but it was cold enough and fluffy enough I could use the leaf blower for most of it while the sun is taking care of the rest now. Still forecast for 4-5" on Tuesday (when I'm out of the country) but almost all of the time in the next 10 days is above freezing so anything that drops should melt away pretty quickly. Less and less time below 32 degrees says spring is actually starting to come now.

I've never looked forward to spring like I am this year, ever.

Last year went through 6 cords of firewood, this year already at 8 cords with at least a month to go.

at least you can get at your firewood. Mine is burried under 2' of natural snow plus another 2' that I had to blow off the driveway. I'd have to trudge through almost 4' of the stuff to get at the woodpile now. Uphill to boot (both ways!).

It's still cold in Maine, but not as cold as Michigan. I think we hit one degree last night. This is the hard time of the year. We're supposed to reach 50 degrees in nine days, but whereas 50 degrees for one day is plenty warm enough to fish, it's nowhere near enough heat to melt the ice. So, I can walk outside and feel like I could fish, but I can't. I do have a drysuit now and a stable kayak stashed at my pal's pond. My Old Town NEXT at my pond is pretty stable too, so I'll be good to go once the water softens.

That's a huge increase and a LOT of wood. I'm ready to fish too. My Bass Resource buddies in Iowa are already fishing!!! Clayton in Kansas too. And I'm nowhere near launching.

Gradually warming temps every day this week here, topping out around 60 by Friday. And rain. Not snow, rain.

Not sure if I dare say it yet, the forecast is looking like spring.

All of our snow will be gone in a week. Right now the only snow left are the piles along the road and driveway, and north-facing locations.

03 March and today's high was 20-ish degrees. Yep, it's still winter around Boston. It's supposed to be above freezing and rainy this week.

It's been a long winter here. I hope Cape Cod opens up soon. I'll be in Dennis Port in three weeks.

The lid came off over the past couple days, but I can't get out until next Sunday. Lots of rain forecast between now and then, but I'll be out there next Sun, Mon, Tues, come Hell or high water. Most likely it'll be high water.

@T-Billy did you finish the winter honey-do list?

Asking for a friend.

List complete. Honey is happy. I'm free to fish starting next week.

Well, it finally is breaking here. Snow is disappearing, mud season right around the corner.

Hopefully I'll be taking the kayak out soon for my shake down trip, local river more just getting out and paddling and making sure everything is working.

Got new dry pants and water boots to test out too, throw a spinnerbait around to see if I can get a pike.

Anyone have Michigan tornadoes in early March on their winter weather bingo card?

We had some wicked thunderstorms here over night, but no twisters thankfully.

Either way Kya spent the night on my head.

Can we get a photo of that visual in the "post a photo a day" thread?

First voyage of the 2026 campaign today. Took Peppy Le Pew for a boat ride. 😂 Nice to get out though, and now I know what NOT to do tomorrow. Water is rising, fish are scattered, and bait schools seem non-existent. Gonna hit the main lake basins tomorrow. It was too windy today.

We're going backwards here for the next week or so. Much colder temps, and several chances at snow.

This weekend could be significant snow. Thumbs down

TV gif. Jim Cantore from The Weather Channel is standing in thigh high snow. It's actively snowing and he yells, "I've had it!" before falling backwards into the fresh, powdery snow and disappearing from view.

Yesterday the high temp was 87 degrees. Today the high temp was 73 degrees, but that was at 3 a.m. this morning. The temps have been dropping steadily ever since. Winter ain't done yet.

84 yesterday. Sleeting today. Snow predicted. Just shoot me now. Having a new roof put on the house, materials were just delivered and put on roof today.

We're getting blasted again this weekend.

So glad I just stocked up on all the lawn fertilizer for the summer

and there's a new set of trailer tires for the Pro-V Bass coming tomorrow.

Timing is everything.

After reading A-Jays posts I can't really fret about our weather here, but I will 🙃

75 degrees here yesterday, now 36 degrees with snow flurries.
