Just sayin', I believe some of us older and Tech Compromised forum members are going to be left behind with the new changes.

Mail icon as in you BR PM messages? My notifications work when I'm logged into the site but I don't get email notifications for weeks at a time. Then the notifications start coming in to my personal emails. It's been that ways for a couple of months. I just thought it was an external problem that we've been having as a national collective

So when I use my mac book I can click on the notifications/messages icons and they open up. On the apple tablet it's still non-responsive.

Also, I'm using safari, not chrome. So I don't know how to make everything bigger on that platform. Any suggestions welcome.

I've cleared the cache and everything else 3x since yesterday and my 17" windows laptop is still unusable on the new software.

My iPhone 16 runs the new software just fine and if I mirror the forum on our 65" LG OLED it's very readable.

Now back to resetting passwords, etc.

For text size, click on the thing that looks like a tv with 2 bars under it on the address bar at the top of the page, click on the bigger A to increase size.

FWIW, my notifications and messages work on the iPad, I did clear cache yesterday but hadn’t noticed if they did not work before that.

Have you tried: Command +

edit-didn't see that someone already posted about this on page two.

Is this a clear your cache thing or compact view thing? The home page looks "normal". When I click on/into a topic it seems a bit long vertically but visually okay. However the individual forums look like this before clicking on a topic. Any thoughts?

I have the honor of being the oldest active member on BR since, Roadwarrior retired. (late 2004) I've been here for every update and Glenn is right. Us older folk freakout a little and in time, never think twice about "how it used to be". It's always an improvement. I'm all in... (after I once again figure out the changes...LOL)

The green menu button is fixed, and so is the top right site search function. I also made a slight adjustment to the fonts to make them more legible.

if I’m supposed to see what BigAngus shows in this image, I don’t. In the upper right I have the little profile image but that’s it. Yes, I’ve cleared cache, twice.

I am old so I keep my display settings larger than recommended. That causes me to not be able to see parts of pages. Make sure your display setting isn't larger or zoomed in.

Thanks that’s what it is/was, I had it too zoomed in to see the missing info. Unfortunately if I make it small enough to see them everything else is too small. Just the ads take up 1/3 of the screen scrunching up the text. I’ll have to break out the laptop and see if it’s more usable, an iPad might just be too small for use here.

One request if possible. Other forums have the ability to ignore topics...you mark it, and it doesn't even show up in your topic list. Can this be implemented?

I have this issue too.

I saw the question asked earlier but did not see an answer. I too would like to know if there is a way to mark forum read. This was an option on the prior version that I used all the time. If it exists here, I am just having a hard time locating it. Everything else looks great and so far functions as it is supposed to for me.

I got to be honest besides the great addition of dark mode, I see no difference in the user experience besides the larger sponsor panel.

@Rockhopper - you can mark the entire set of forums read by clicking on your profile name in the upper right and chosing "mark all content read". That will mark all content across all forums read. If you just want to mark one forum (for instance the reports forum) then while in that forum there is an option to click 'mark forum read' right above the first thread.

It isn't as simple as it was before where you could click the icon on the main forum landing page to mark a singular forum read. Now you have to click into the forum to mark a single forum read.

Thank you. I could not find that for the life of me.

The sponsor panel is exactly the same size as before.

First, a big thanks for all the hard work Glenn. Loving the dark mode! Not crazy about the sticky menu bar though, wish that still had an on/off option.

Then I guess there is something in the format that makes the UI and reading panel seem smaller when compared or maybe the black background makes it more prominent.

Thanks Glen , now I have something to do until I get the boat out in April. Lol

Ok, I see what was happening. Because the ads weren't working, the sidebar expanded to a default width. Now that the ads are working again, the sidebar is the correct width.

"This issue is now resolved"

Thank you.
