After today's BASS win, the countdown til "game changer" grubs hitting the market has started.

I love that Hank won and in that manner.

I’ve got a bunch in chartreuse a bunch in white, I generally use for sauger. Plus I have some in shad (black & white) then some in brown black flake. Been a minute since I actually swam a curly tail for bass though, a long time..

I have one pack salt ‘n pepper and one in white. Been fishing them for many years.

Awesome win for the old school. Happy Birthday Hank!

I still have a few packs of Kalins grubs. I use to use a color called "Witches Brew" a lot which was a brown chartreuse tail.

So one more bait I have kept secret........If you're talking about single tail grubs, the one that has been great for me the past few years is the Deps MS Grub. When you go through the colors you will see why. My favorite is Amber Shad. It's just as basic as you can get but no one has anything like it. It also makes for a great trailer.

Everytime there is a "how to fish rip rap" thread come up, I recommend a grub and jighead.

so, does this mean nobody will be fishing with 4" swim baits anymore?...

I don't think grubs in general are a big secret. I know a few guys that fish the Yamamoto Single Tail Grub and the Fat Albert. I fished both of them over the years as well but the Deps MS Grub is a different animal and not on most people's radar. I kept it quiet because its hard to find. Its a big bait by most grub standards and churns up a lot of water.

You are definitely correct about rip rap. Works great.

Wait till they hear about a beetlespin!!!!

I have so many grubs, I just can't believe a major bass tournament was won with one. I have a ton of chartreuse pepper and silver sparkle I use for walleye or for trailers on spinnerbaits. The 4" Yamamoto single tail smoke/no flake are my favorite. I've got several 20 packs that I reserve just for winter trips to the Ozark lakes. It's boring fishing, but super effective. I would like to do it with scope now, that would make it a little more interesting and probably even more effective.

I use grubs for saltwater all the time for redfish.

Heck a plastic grub was my go to 30 some years ago.

All you needed was white, yellow, black, and a chartreuse.

Rivers in Iowa to Shield lakes in Canada.

Caught every species you wanted.

Never in a million years would I have guessed a BASS tournament was won in the year 2026 with a plastic grub.

Pretty cool.

I remember when he won a classic with a red bladed jig. You couldn't find that color anywhere for weeks.

Remember the Chris Lane win with a whopper plopper on Toledo Bend? I got sucked into that one too.

FWIW... some dude was shilling his grubs within 3 hours of weight in ending lol.

I paid more attention to the mlf tacklewarehouse pro event. But caught up on the elite. Good for Hank cherry on his birthday and with an old school technique. Reminded me I have a pack of green pumpkin fat Albert’s. I’ll throw some on a bed head this year.

I have been using a Fat Albert on the back of a swim jig for a few years now.

I tried them on spinner baits but didn’t like it. Didn’t get around to putting one on a swim jig last year.

Have any of you ever used a grub as a top water? I use to catch river smallies that way. Buzz it across the top. Strikes were vicious. I used 5 inch Kalins and 5 inch Riversides.

For the grub lovers here, Keitech released a new grub in 2023 or so called the Flapper Grub.

Some nice details, particularly for holding the hook within the bait. Also seems to have a bit of a keel.

I have several packs of those. You are correct, the little hook fin works great.

I’ve used an 1/8 ounce roadrunner in chartreuse to great affect. It’s a great bed fishing bait. My largest Indiana fish came on one.

It was a very cool bait to win a tournament on... I guess the hardest part for be to believe is the fact he tied on a curly tail grub vs something else with all the bait choices out there.

I've used them for years for speckled trout and as jig/spinnerbait trailers...but for me, with all the new fancy baits, it's hard to tie something so basic on now a days. Maybe that's my problem!

I promise you there will be quite a few tied on and dancing in front of FFS after Hank's victory.

I never really used grubs….. I have a few packs, just never really fished them. I seen people use them in salt water.

I always kinda thought of them as a trailer.

I used 5” grubs a lot about 20 years ago. Kalins and chompers in watermelon or smoke. Only colors you need. Except chartreuse of course lol
