Sounds like a plan! We'll keep in touch.

A dozen new jigs 1/2oz made by my Mailman who does it as a side gig. A bunch of new cranks, DT6s, Frittsides, Bill Lewis ATVs. A handful of new Chatterbaits as well. Evo Elites and Mini Maxs, both in 3/8 and 1/2.

Probably going to buy at least one new rod, possibly as many as three. Looking at St. Croix, G Loomis, Falcon, and Kistler.

New reels also. Metanium or Zillion maybe both.

I'd say I bought a good amount this winter. A new scale, Shimano Caius casting combo, Abu Garcia spinning combo, probably 6 packs of plastics, half a dozen jigs, a few lipless cranks, a squarebill, a 6th sense divine umbrella rig, a 500yd spool of 15lb KastKing flouro line, 12lb Yo Zuri flouro, 12lb Berkley Big Game flouro, a bladed jig, a live target blugill swimbait for the spawn, and a few Berkley and Strike King swim jigs.

I added a blackpak with a shortstack to my kayak (sounds like a line from a Dr. Suess book) 😂 Finally made the step up from the rolling toolbox DIY tacklebox to something a lot nicer.

Also added the DIY seat riser, a paddle holder, a 100 Ah mini lithium battery, and 55lb thrust stern mount motor to the kayak my kids use. Should make it a lot more enjoyable for them.

Don't know how it is possible, but literally nothing added fishing related this winter. 😐

100 red treble hooks and a bunch of #8 split rings for the spoons that I made.

Excluding lures, i got a really clean 2011 calcutta 100 DC, a NOS limited edition LIVRE handle from like 10 years ago, and cerakoted one reel that i still haven't assembled yet.

Are you pouring spoons now?

A spool of 15# Big Game, two Rat-L-Traps, and I'm waiting for the Spring Classic to see about a frog reel.

Not just now. I’ve been pouring them for a long time. I have about run out of the babbitt ones and have switched to hard lead.

Two spinning rods, reels, and Seaguar Smackdown in Stealth Gray to fill the spools. I don't use spinning rods myself very often, but always have about ten of them ready to go. I ran across an unusually good deal on the new ones and decided to bite. Whenever I take visitors, friends, and family fishing, my prized bait casters stay in the rod lockers and at home; that is when the spinning tackle is handed out.

In 2025 I was disciplined and denied the monkey. I have the same intentions for 2026. With that said, I needed some mono and a Rapala Original Floating Minnow in size 18 also made it home with me. I love the smalller ones on calm days. I am hoping the 18 size will be just as effective but a little more usable with a little wind.

I added the following:

2 Skeet Reese 2000 Icon Spinning Reels

Royal Legend Pro 7'6" MH/F Spinning Rod

Royal Legend Pro 3000 Spinning Reel

Assoretd frogs

Blue Fox Spinners

Misc terminal tackle

Purchased a Shimano Aldebaran BFS. Built a BFS rod from a Rainshadow Eternity spinning blank.

By far the lightest combo I have ever held.

Cashion Icon and a Shimano Curado MGL 201

  • 1 month later...

Restocked some soft plastics and bought a few 600y spools for floro.

Picked up the refreshed Daiwa Tatula cork rod 7'3" MH/F for some bottom contact work.

Few baits that I haven't used much. Built 2 rods for deep dragging stuff. Rehabbed a couple reels now I need rods for them. The cycle continues.

I did get a few Raid Dead Boy swimbaits. Holy smokes they're amazing.

I wasn't going to add anything big, but once a year I get an opportunity for pro deals on Shimano fishing gear.. so I decided it was time to try out a Curado MGL 70. Only made it out once so far, but I think I'm going to end up liking it as much as my Zillion.

Rods: 2025 Daiwa Steez Rod

Reels: 2024 Daiwa Steez SV TWS, 2024 Steez AII TW

Lures: Too many to list
