Complicating matters further, during the recovery process our hosting provider corrupted the databases associated with the server. As a result, the entire server and website had to be rebuilt from scratch using backups — and, unfortunately, that process did not go smoothly.

@Glenn, I am glad everything is back to normal. I am sure you have been pulling your hair out. I've been out of town visiting my sister and her husband in Arkansas for a few days but I did notice when things came back up. Wow! Approximately two and a half weeks of being down and checking every day or so was quite surprising. I knew within a week that your database was corrupted. Typically, these things don't take this long unless a database needs to be rebuilt. In my career as a network engineer, we designed, configured, programmed and built converged networks and call centers for corporations. Something like this would have cost us a lot of money in compensation for not meeting our Service Level Agreement (SLA) built into our customers' contracts. I am sure it is probably confidential but this did make me wonder what kind of contract the site has with the sponsors and if this was a point of contention with them. Anyway, not to emphasize the negatives, but all of this reminded me of work. LOL!

You don’t know how much you miss something till it’s gone. This place was one!

Hi everyone, And thank you @Glenn .

I sure missed everybody and this site.

I’m glad to see the site up and running. I thought it might have been my server.

It's good to see this up and running once again.

I’ve been back 3-4 days but missed this thread somehow.

Good to see everyone and THANK YOU Glenn !

I thought I had another password lockout for awhile there ☺️

Glenn, how many days were.we out of commission? It seemed like weeks to me! Could you put up a red flag if it ever happens again so I know it’s not on my end but on the site itself!

18 days - a record I hope never gets beat!

I posted updates on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube as well as the forum homepage (when I was able to get it up) during the entire downtime.

Ever since we came back online, the notifications go away as soon as I click the bell. I'll have the red dot with the number, click on it, then everything gets greyed out like its been viewed.

(yes I've done the things before you ask)

Absolutely nothing changed with the forum code, so I don't know what to tell you. Sounds like a problem with your phone/computuer configuration. 99% of all issues are usually a browser setting, a browser extension, ad blocker, VPN, anti-virus, an outdated browser, etc.

Because there are hundreds of combinations and settings that end users have, there's absolutely no way I can be tech support for these issues. Clearing cache and cookies, then rebooting is the catch-all starting point, which corrects many common problems. Also, ensure you have the latest browser. Beyond that, I can't help. But disabling extensions, ad-blockers, VPN's and anti-virus one-by-one can potentially isolate the problem and help you figure out what to fix.

I didn't realize how much I missed Bass resource until I had no resource to miss.

OMG, we are back, missed everyone. Definate withdrawal symptoms. At first I thought it was on my end, so I put my computer through the wringer. Reset everything I could think of, I even sent a letter (snail mail) to Glenn, to the address on the main page, not sure he got it, but I felt better. Then I saw the note from Glenn on the main page about the outage.

I am overjoyed to be back. Thanks to Glenn and anyone who helped get BR back up and running.

Yep, I got the letter. There was another member that called my personal cell phone too.

Guys - you need to check the official Bassresource social channels for updates should there ever be another outage. I know some of you don't use Facebook or Instagram, so I also posted on Youtube and our Google profile. I posted updates almost every day.

Glad everything got fixed and back up!!

My man..... Glenn......Thanks buddy for everything you do...
