Started off the week by ordering a Curado K online since all the shops around here are sold out. Yesterday when talking to a friend he told me there's a place about 20 minutes from where I live that has a few bass rods, even though it's a surf and inshore fishing shop.

Drove down there this morning, got a great deal on an NRX 802S and a Curado 7'2 H, one of those "I can't pass this up" deals.

Strangely they had an E6X 893C for 100 EUR (~120 USD) over the regular price, so not sure what's going on there.

The handle is on the wrong side. Maybe you can fish it upside down?

So what's your favorite :)?

My Destroyer/Certate but my Orochi/Luvias gets more use. The Whipsnakes such an underrated rod IMO. Plenty sensitive, perfect tip and action for finesse applications. The Luvias is light as well, lighter than my Certate, smooth, start up inertia isn’t that bad either.

Going old school on this one.  Abu Ambassadeur 5000 with a Garcia Conolon 5’ Three Star.  Great little setup.  Looks almost new!

2 of my tat sv tw's.  Zpi PG spools and tension knobs.  Have OG corks on one, and some limited blue Slp's on the other.

Edit-Im having a hard time with my new photo hosting site.

They're not in my hands yet, but my new rig is the Daiwa Tatula SV TW (7:3) paired with a Johnny Morris platinum signature casting rod (the red one shown below, 7' 1" MHF). I thought this would make an awesome combo, plus they look great together.

Do you fish them, or collect them, or both?

I was away from fishing during this time period, so I never experienced them.

Do you also use more modern/current reels too?

I use 1of the curado200e and 1 of the 50e reels currently. The ones I'm not fishing with have been tuned up and put in reel cases for the mean time. I'll probably use them, im very good with my gear and haven't marked up a reel yet so. The reels case so well man and they feel so solid in the hands.

Loving this lately:

Might try the reel on my Daiwa Steez AGS Bottom Contact rod and see how that feels!  Anyone use one on that rod?  And I really like the Grand line...very soft and casts terrific!

Here are just some of the classics that are in my lineup among others.  The fully mint or nib versions of each haven’t left their boxes.  ?

Added some recent blue to this Ito/105h hybrid.

Holy wow!  Details on this build please...:)

This was a build done for a friend of mine's 40th birthday, paid for by his wife.  I just completed it last night.  All parts are brand new, no donor reels involved.  He bought a new float rod for steelhead a month back and asked his wife to get him a reel to go with it for his birthday.

New production 5500 C3 spool and line guide

New old stock Royal 4500 side plates

5500CS Rocket chrome frame

80mm handle and 50mm star wheel from Simon Shimomura

Double bearing level wind

Avail ported double bearing idler gear

Backup anti-reverse ratchet to accommodate the IAR bearing

Stainless steel 5.3:1 gears and bearing supported drive shaft from Rocket Reel Company

Abu CS Pro Rocket clutch washer and Bakelite brake blocks

Boca Lightning spool bearings

Carbontex and stainless steel drag washers from Smooth Drag

Ceramic line guide pawl

Polished brake drum, clutch release, spool shaft end, drag discs, driveshaft stud

Lubed with Yamaha marine grease, TSI301 in the level wind assembly and spool shaft end, TSI321 in the bearings, Cal's on the drag

His birthday party is tomorrow and me and his wife will hand it on over.  He's going to be pretty dang happy!

Finally got my two-tone mitts on a Loomis MBR. On my way south to the lake I stopped by the tackle shop, was going in to see if I could finally order one of these now that Shimano distributes their own stuff in Europe, looked at the rods and saw the telltale "fish" outline next to the label. Got the 844 MBR right away, might order an 843 later this month.

Also noticed that they're bringing back the old logo instead of the "comic sans" type one the've been using since the previous model GLXs.
