I think we should make this thread a sticky. This man contributed so much to this forum and his memory and knowledge should be known to everyone who visits this site.

Jack was a great guy and alot of fun.  I met him in person one day on Toledo Bend and boy, he could flat out fish.  Also, we talked on the phone several times about different things.  He will be missed on this forum for sure. 

Just goes to remind us that fishing isn't exactly the most important thing in life.  My life was changed by a T-shirt that said "Life is short, do something".  I will pray for Jack's family and more importantly those that are without Christ.  I know the rules on posting religious views, but I feel as if I missed a golden opportunity in all the times that I spoke with Jack.  I will not go into religious things here, but I will say that any of you can PM me regarding Christianity.  I dont claim to know everything, in fact I know very little, but I want my love for God to be shown, even if it is through a computer screen.

Every day we pull out fish from their world. I'm sure god has just done the same for fishfordollars. Only he's in a far better place. Where every moment is that sun rise peaking over the tree tops while sitting on your favorite hole, but this time with the lord as your co angler. Tight lines my friend and may the winds always blow from the west.

I was thinking much along these same lines.  Maybe starting a "Best of Thread", to highlight some of the over 6,000 posts he made over the years. 

The man had a unique wit along with an untold amount of knowledge on bass fishing and life in general.  Not an exact quote, but what he replied to Senile only a few days ago would be the perfect title:

"It's called a plane ticket - The back seat is open!"

I was thinking about Jack's passing a lot yesterday.  I went back and re-read that thread.  Life is so short and even shorter for some of us.  I have spoken with some friendly people on this forum and it makes me realize that I should make more of an effort to meet and fish with some of them.  You never know when they could be gone.

x2 but until then I decided the best way that i could honor his memory is by taking a piece of advice he offered and putting it in the signature line. I think this would be a good thing for us forum members to do to show our support for a man that contributed greatly this forum.

The first time I fished with Jack I left my spinner bait box in his boat, he called me at home and asked of I needed it since he knew I was going back to the lake in 2 days. I told not really since I had all kinds of spinner baits at the camp and he could bring them next trip; Jack says yea but these are some of your favorites. Well the next morning FedEx drops a package off at my house with my spinner bait box in sidehe express shipped them over night...That's the kind of man Jack was!

He help me a couple times over the past year and i thank him for that.

Oh my gosh.  This is horrible.  May he rest in peace and catch a 20 lb bass every day in that great bass pond in the sky.

I hadn't seen this thread until RW called me this morning and told me of Jack's death. I felt like I had been kicked in the stomach. Jack was a close friend and a mentor and I will miss him greatly. Rest in peace, my friend. :'(

I bought some items from Jack on this site, and we shared a few pm's over different things. I have heard people refer to Jack as sincere, gentleman, honest, giving, forthright, and it is all true. We will miss him.

This is terrible news.  Best wishes to his family and friends.  Hope he catches several more lunkers in heaven.

Really really bad news. He was down to earth and didn't try to tell you how good of a fishermen he was you just knew it by how much he helped everybody else and all the knowledge he showed. Always read his posts. I really hate this.
