  1. Start out with Eakins Jigs. They're usually easy to find and catch a lot of bass. I like the 5/16 oz. Black and Blue the best. Recently I bought some of these, and the quality is excellent: http://talonlures.com/hardballfinessejig.aspx I think they will become my new go-to jig.
  2. How much do you want to spend? No less than 90$ and no more than 200$ A St. Croix Avid would be a good choice. I own two of them and they are very nice rods. You could also look at the Shimano Cumaras which are run about $200. The Carrot Stix also have a big following and are priced around $150, but I've never fished one so I don't have an opinion on them.

  4. A Curado 200e5, and I'm going to buy a G Loomis Crankbait rod with the money I got.
  5. I'm in Peachtree City, GA just outside of Atlanta.
  6. I have caught more fish on a DT-4 than Zoom. The Zoom cranks are made well but do not seem to work for me? The LC RC 1.5 is running circles around all other cranks right now where I fish. Allen That's weird, the Zooms have been awesome for me. The Sand Flea and Sweet P in particular have been great. The RC cranks are great too.
  7. They're really nice baits for the price and I've caught a lot of fish on them. That being said, they don't compare favorably to my Zoom WEC custom cranks. I hate the price, but those WECs catch a ton.
  8. I've learned to never base decisions on BPS reviews, they can be misleading. Just look at how many people on there think an Ugly Stik is the best rod ever.
  9. Hey, RW has to have something to cheer about after the Broncos couldn't close the deal. ;D The Chargers have got a chance for some payback. 8-)
  10. If you just want to catch any fish, get some 1/8 oz Panther Martin Inline Spinners. Orange skirt with a gold blade. If you want to catch fewer but bigger bass, try a small black and blue jig or a flatsided crankbait. This warm weather has turned the bite on pretty well.

There's a good population of stocked Tilapia in one of the ponds I fish. I've never tried to eat them though.
  12. I'm no expert, but I fish jigs very similar to the way I fish a Texas rigged worm. Cast your jig near an ambush point like a brush pile or lay-down log and give it some a little slack so it will fall vertically (but remember, many bites will come on the fall so watch your line closely). While retrieving the jig, mix it up by hopping, dragging, shaking and pausing the bait. Remember, fishing the jig slower with longer pauses will usually result in more fish. Try to put jig where the fish are, don't be afraid to throw it in heavy cover if you have the right equipment. Good Luck.

It looks awesome. If there were just a little more green on the sides it would be perfect.
  14. Wow. That guy couldn't hit a barn door with a bazooka. ;D
  15. Sounds great. I handled one at a tackle shop yesterday, they felt awesome.

may i be so bold to ask why you remove split ring not saying that it is better one way or another. i dont take split off and maybe i should would like to know thanks ken kindle Remove the split ring before you put the snap on. I assume I am suppose to remove the split rings before putting on a snap, but can I just put the snap on the split ring? how does it affect the bait movement and such anyways? The snap attached to the split ring gives the lure another joint of motion, which takes away some of the action.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Thanks Glenn.
  18. Why don't they just come out with a full assortment of Sexy Shad hooks, that way you won't even need any Sexy Shad lures. :
  19. Round bend. They hold the trailer better for me and I get better hookups.

I downloaded IE7 and restarted but the "new" bars are still blue and the internet automatically refreshes every time I view a different page. Any ideas how to fix it?

Hang in there. It will get better.
  22. GYCB Kreature: t-rigged with a 1/8 oz. weight GYCB Flappin Hog: as a jig trailer Zoom Baby Brush Hog: split shot rig Not sure if they are creature baits but I like Baby Paca Craws as well.
  23. clear/sunny/stained: Ghost Sunfish (perfect color for these conditions), Gost Minnow muddy/overcast: Chartruse Rootbeer or Caramel Apple I like any crank color that imitates a Sunfish or Bluegill, they work great in ponds or lakes.
