Oh man, I don't know how many times this needs to be said, but here we go again... Just because something is "Made in America" doesn't mean it's exempt from tariffs. Often (raw or manufactured) materials, machinery, and parts used to create a product in America come from overseas. All of those are getting hit by tariffs, hence the higher costs you're seeing now. To put another way, it's increasingly difficult to find something that is entirely and exclusively "Made in America." Therefore, blanket tariffs raise the price of virtually everything "Made in America". And in case this is breaking news, the consumer pays the tariff, not the country of origin, meaning the U.S. consumers are seeing higher and higher prices now as a result of tariffs. I kinda feel like I'm shouting in the wind, though. Nobody seems to be paying attention to how tariffs work...and, especially, don't work. They were warned....

Not that cost isn't a factor for me, but long ago when I was debating whether or not to spend the extra $$ on a Gortex rainsuit or get something more budget friendly, my buddy told me, "When it's cold, rainy, and windy and you're dry and comfortable, you won't be thinking about how much you spent on your outfit." I took his advice and bit the bullet. He was right. So now I apply that approach to much of my fishing. Line is super-important. It's the difference between an awesome memory and another "one that got away" story. So I don't skimp. It's Tatsu and InvizX for me, although I've been trying the R18 and am loving it (Dang baitmonkey!!). But don't forget BasiX is an awesome budget-friendly fluorocarbon with many of the same great properties of more expensive lines. All that said, those dang walleye will still slice 6-lb Tatsu like a hot knife through butter. Don't ask me how I know!

Hmmm....I'm not too sure about that claim. All fluorocarbon line stretches. It's a key feature of fluorocarbon line. So comparing the stretch of FC against FC - especially higher-end FC - the difference is barely measurable. I doubt you'd know the difference when fishing them. That said, Tatsu is limber, easy to cast, and has higher abrasion resistance and knot strength than Sniper due to it's slightly larger line diameter (0.011 vs. 0.010) and double-structure formula.

I just don't engage. Those people are entrenched in their misguided beliefs and are only focused on forcing people to change to their ways. They'll never listen to reason. So I just ignore them, or at most, say "Oh, so you hate me? I'm ok with that." and walk away, leaving them speechless. Like I always say, you're welcome to believe whatever you want. However you can't force your beliefs on others.

You make it sound like the "scare tactic" has been harmless. Perhaps that wasn't your intent, because it's caused a great deal of economic harm already. Conversations at ICAST were dominated by companies pulling back on spending across the board until "things become clearer". This is happening across every vertical and sector in American business right now. When major companies aren't spending money, everyone loses.

I don't have any issues using FC. But then again, I use Seaguar InvizX, Tatsu, and R18. Those are premium lines (especially the R18) that are priced accordingly. But Seaguar invented fluorocarbon fishing line. They own the patent, plus they make their own line - from resin to packaging, they have full quality control over the entire manufacturing process. That's why I trust it so much, and that's why I don't have any issues with it.

In your "analysis", you left out how many fish were caught per period. However, the information I quoted above is unassailable evidence that anglers who use FFS catch more fish than those who do not. Ergo, yes, it has ruined the "sport" of bass fishing.
