Kalin's grubs are the original grubs, I believe. I've been using them since the mid-80s and have caught hundreds, if not thousands, of fish on them. They have a gazillion colors, but stick with the smoke salt & pepper, clear salt & pepper, and electric blue for clear to stained water, and Junebug for murky. Pumpkin salt & pepper, and Avocado are good all-purpose colors as well (pumpkin was the go-to color for years before green pumpkin hit the market) https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Kalins_Lunker_Grubs_10pk/descpage-KSLG.html
  5. I have both Victory and Legend Tournament rods, and both are excellent. However, I tip the hat to the Legend Tournament. It just fishes better. It feels more balanced and sensitive to me. If I had to choose between the two, I'd go with the Legend Tournament series. But if budget was a factor, I'd be perfectly happy with the Victory line.
  6. Nope. This thread is about rods and reels. It's in the appropriate forum. All - you've done a good job of keeping politics out of this discussion. Let's keep it that way.

  13. Well, Tatsu really isn't designed for this application. It's more for crankbaits, Texas rigs, and finesse tactics. I'd switch to InvizX, which is an all-purpose line with great abrasion resistance. And you don't need to treat it with kit gloves.

  18. I had tennis elbow from casting too hard. For nearly 3 years I wore one of these things below every time I went fishing, plus took some time off fishing, to finally heal it. Like others have said, ease up on the spool tension and educate your thumb more.
