  1. My only problem with Canada is the wildfire smoke. LOL But this topic is beginning to cross the border into politics (see what I did there?). Let's keep it fishing focused.
  2. Precision engineering at its finest. https://www.suzukimarine.com/promotions/
  3. The West does indeed have it's own trail. The BAM (Bass Angler Magazine) trail. It's a purely West coast, pro-am style circuit with big payouts. It's in its 2nd year and gaining traction.
  4. August is upon us, the heat is relentless, and boat traffic is everywhere. The bite has slowed down, and catching bass feels like a struggle. But don’t worry—finesse worms are the secret weapon you need to keep catching fish when nothing else is working. Here is exactly how to rig & fish finesse worms to outsmart pressured bass during the toughest time of year.
  5. Could be the way it was stored before you bought it.
  6. A member of our community for over 20 years with more than 30,000 posts, he was always generous with his knowledge and eager to help fellow anglers. His passing is a profound loss that touches us all deeply—and an even greater loss for his family and friends.
  7. And a lifetime warranty to boot! (see what I did there?)
  8. Buy lumaflex skirts. You can thank me later.
  9. One of the biggest differences is ball bearing swivels will get those blades to start turning as soon as the bait hits the water. In addition, you can retrieve the spinnerbait faster without it rolling over on one side.
  10. Whelp, last season I said the Hawks were going nowhere as long as they had Geno Smith. He's gone, replaced with Sam Darnold. TBD if that's a significant improvement, but it couldn't be worse. They drafted QB Jalen Milroe in the 3rd round for insurance. New QB coach too. I also said they needed to wipe out the O-Line and start over. Done. They let go of their existing line, and have 5 2025 draft picks on the O-Line now, including a 1st round pick, plus another guard. They have another lineman that was drafted last year too. New O-line coach too. Complete rebuild. I also said they needed to upgrade their running backs. Not done. They did draft one running back, but it appears they're going to see what the revamped O-line can do before making changes in the backfield. That said, they drafted a tight end and a wide receiver - both studs. Also added veteran Cooper Kupp plus a few other WR and TE's, and got a new assistant offensive coordinator. Lots of changes in key positions. It looks good on paper, but this year will definitely be a rebuilding year, so I don't have high expectations. But you never know!
  11. Today is the last Thursday without football until February!
  12. Tangent airlines now departing....
  13. I've been using tubes for decades. Not because of Shaw. I was using them before he did. They still work great today, and are a staple in my arsenal.
  14. This should help
  15. I'm not very good at making predictions, but this is an easy one. 🤣
  16. I'm a DAT and Beta tape fan myself.
  17. The primary topic in every conversation this year at ICAST wasn't FFS. It was tariffs and inflation. There's a ton of uncertainty. Nobody wants price increases because they will reduce sales, potentially with catastrophic consequences. Most companies are being very cautious while trying to remain optimistic. However, the reality is that fishing is often considered a recreational sport, viewed as optional or a luxury by many. And that's one of the first things that gets cut from family budgets. One thing is certain, you will see more and more of this unless there is a course correction.
  18. Congratulations Shaw!! https://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/shaw-grigsby-72225.html

  20. btw, they did go to the CA Delta once or twice, and they had the Columbia river scheduled in 2018. Then they cancelled when the pros complained, and B.A.S.S. ended all West Coast stops.
  21. Speaking of Mike...
  22. Hey they've completely dissed the western half of the U.S. for nearly 2 decades. When I asked them about it, they made it clear there were no plans ever to venture West again. The reason? The pros don't want to travel that far. Looks like the circle is getting smaller now. Probably due to rising travel costs. Over the course of 4 days, I couldn't find a single person at ICAST that favored livescope. Not one. Not even a pro. I'm not saying there aren't any fans of it, but they're a small minority for sure. My take? (not that anyone asked) It's similar to electro-fishing. A great tool for fishery biologists and lake managers, but not something anglers should have. Yes, it takes skill to use it, but it shouldn't be used for fishing.
  23. Can’t explain it… it just has the look. The Suzuki Stealth Series speaks for itself.
  24. For me, it's deep water spoon fishing in the winter. I've caught other species by accident doing that, but not bass. I admit I lose my patience when I know I can catch them other ways. So I haven't given it a decent shot yet. 2nd place would be giant swimbaits. Those 8" or larger baits that weigh as much as a puppy. Just casting them throws my back out! LOL
  25. Oh it's not just purchases, it's anything where you spend $$. I get them from restaurants, hotels, airlines...heck I even get them when I have to contact customer service to fix something. Then here it comes...."How'd we do?" And yes, they're persistent. It's extremely annoying - like expecting a 20% tip for handing me a cup of coffee.
