  1. Sorry LBH I also kinda got off course of your original post too
  2. It was known as bumper dragging here and as a kid it's what we lived for come winter. And yes looking back on all of the stupid things we did as kids, I sometimes wonder how much fun my kids a missing out on :'( In my opinion it must suck to be a kid in todays society.
  3. AAHH the good ole' days That's when a parent could beat a kid down in the middle of JC Penneys for back talkin' and people would actually applaud the act.. Well.... not that it happened to me....I'm just saying Dear ole' DAD taught us alot about respect And we turned out alright.

    Good one Sam ;D
  5. Agreed, good lure, I look for white or orange bellies on all topwater lures
  6. The Quickfire is like reel mechanic said the thumbar. It is a piece that allows you to open the bail with a single finger. I personally like them and own a few, Although some guys will beg to differ on the sense and need for them, they are quite user friendly.
  7. I like to use spinning gear for light plastics and creek fishing. For all other applications I prefer to use baitcast. When it comes to panfishing I prefer to use....and don't laugh.... THE TRUSTWORTHY,GOOD OLE' RELIABLE ZEBCO! I love those set ups, just make sure you change the line to a better brand!
  8. Even if it did work I would be suspect to causing damage to the motor over a extended period of time. My opinion. You should talk to sneaker he had a post in July about "trolling motor basics" and seems knowledgable on the subject. www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1215535988/all - 103k -
  9. Sounds like a great time, unfortunately I will probably not be able to go. If things start getting better at work and I am able to attend would bringing my 13 year old be a problem?

Plastics Manns 8"black grape Berkley power worm watermelon Berkley 3"grub Berkley craws Cranks Bomber fat free shad in shad or craw colors Rapala shad rap in black and silver Rapala DT 6 red craw Spinner baits Terminator white/chart Manns classic white/chart Jigs No particular manufacturer only the must be black or blue Topwater Spook all silver Chugbug frog pattern Weed demon frog pattern
  16. My vote was for slow as poss. but anytime I hit an obstruction with a lure my retrieve will change. also retrieve changes for diff cover, grasses are typically faster than brush. When I'm in open water I typically burn them as a search bait!
  17. Good one Muddy, keep 'em coming
  18. Hmmm Black. 10". You guys are sick.
  19. We have a Koi pond in the back yard full of butterfly's truly an amazing and beautiful fish. The kids hand feed them. Our fish love watermelon,if you run out of "chum" try out the melon! If you guys think fishing is expensive try out Koi ponds they too get very costly!
  20. Too cute You oughta be proud!
  21. I also do well in the rain, Besides Like Momma always said "YOU AIN"T GONNA MELT"
  22. I also am simple minded Generally taking 3 rods, and one bag with a few "proven lures" in "proven colors". Although I am willing to try diff. things too much brought,,, leads to too much changing,,, and not enough fishing. My typicals are t-rig or c-rig worms, cranks, spinnerbaits, and a couple diff topwater
  23. Thanks for the info Paul I'll be getting some of those
  24. Welcome Glad to have ya, I have been to patoka many times, beautiful lake but it's quite a drive for me!
