  1. Water temp 74 and glass calm today. Fish were bedding.
  2. On topic kind of. @A-Jay What is/are the reason(s) RIB boats are used by military and law enforcement?
  3. How is the salted caramel?
  4. Gentlemen and women that participated in this past Fishmas raffle: It saddens me to inform you the Chief officer of CHEF is terminally ill and it appears as if the charity will be dissolved this year unless they can find someone to take over the reigns. If this happens, the tax code says money and assets need to go to another charity. If there are no objections here or if anyone has a suggestion of another charity, I would like to donate the money here https://www.takeavetfishing.org/ Also, we have 30 or 40 fishing rod combos that would also need to be donated. My thought would be the high school fishing teams that are in many of the states. If anyone has any other suggestions, please post them. @Glenn, would Tackle the Storm be interested in the combos? I believe they are all BPS brand and are a mixture of closed face, spinning and baitcasters.
  5. Bottle jack and some wood if you have to change a tire on the trailer,
  6. The only 357 I have shot belonged to my sisters FIL. He was a Chicago cop. I don't believe it was his service revolver but it could have been. This was back in the day when a wheel gun was enough firepower for LEO's. It had a 4" barrel and hard grips. Helluva kick and the muzzle flash was impressive.
  7. I'll let you know. Haven't fired it yet. I'm currently working 6 days a week and haven't found time to go to the range. I used to have the LCR in 38sp and it wasn't a bad gun and very controllable. Gave it to my dad during the heart of the riots in Chicago a couple years back. I went to the store recently looking for another 38. They had a ton of S&W J frames in 38 and I didn't care for them. There was one LCR in another cabinet that I found...the salesman didn't even know it was there. It came with Hogue grips and they help take the sting out. I used to have a Super Redhawk Alaskan in .454 casull with Hogue grips and they were a godsend. That being said, I won't be putting thousands of rounds thru this. It's just a pocket gun. It just needs to be reliable.
  8. It also takes 38 and 38+P rounds
  9. Coon as best I can tell
  10. He's my boy. Sleeps on the floor at my side every night and chills on the couch next to me if I'm home watching tv. I've owned numerous dogs and they haven't been as dedicated as him. He is riveted to my side. His sibling, a female calico, wants nothing to do with either one of us unless it's on her terms. She came for a photo op and disappeared.
  11. Why? Are you being tempted by coffee or salt on your baits? A well placed bait trumps all.
  12. I lied. Now he's enjoying it
  13. 25lbs of fatass finally enjoying the spring
  14. Evinrude is no longer in business. Don't know how much longer you will be able to get parts for it.
  15. Started carrying a Ruger LCR in .357
  16. @Glenn How about Seaguar red instead of Invizx
  17. I can't speak for anywhere else. Our state sucks when it comes to the duties of the DNR being fulfilled. My next door neighbor works for a private company that handles weed management. He's the guy that goes out in the jon boat and treats the water. There are multiple companies that manage vegetation on Illinois waterways under different contracts. Lots of politics involved.
  18. That's a choice. Pick your water wisely. I fished against this guy competitively for 10 years and it's been 10 years since I fished competitively. https://www.bassmaster.com/angler/chris-groh/ He was fishing the same 150 acre lake I was fishing this past Saturday. You know why he was there? Because there are big fish to be had. #chainrats I know you fish the big pond and there are always a bunch of tourneys going on. Same thing on the Fox Chain. There is other water available.
