A little insight into this tournament from a local angler. The Sabine River is 30 minutes west of my house, I fish it 3-4 times a month. December through February is the absolute best time to fish it. A few years ago for no other reason than greed the land owners on the Louisiana side formed a coalition to charge the anglers a fee. B.A.S.S. responded by declaring all waters on the Louisiana side off limits. The anglers can fish the Louisiana side of the main river only. The turn out by locals is one draw but a couple of big draws is Lake Charles has a Golden Nugget Casino & a L'Auberge Casino Resort. There's a dozen world renowned restaurants.

I was asked to expound on this a little further. The bottom composition of the tidal waters near the Gulf Coast are quite different than Toledo Bend. At 65 miles long the southern end of Toledo Bend is quite different that the northern end. I could discribe my bodies of water but that's probably not going help with your bodies water. We have to understand with members here being from all across the country what applies down here may or may not be applicable in your area.

If there is edges & holes, what ya think cause that? Depth changes or bottom composition changes. If there is various types of aquatic vegetation you can learn the bottom composition because some grow on different bottom composition.

Structure ? Structure isn't necessarily humps, ridges, dropoffs, channels.

Probably the biggest mistake anglers make is not fishing the structure under the grass. Structure is the cake...grass is the icing!

Fish the structure not the grass!
