  1. I was a member 😉 Still in contact daily with Diane (ReelWoman) Johnson & Logan Simson II.
  2. @A5BLASTERYa can't stop now! Y'all getting any rain! Swimbait: rigged how?
  3. I noticed a few years back & I'm not sure if there is a correlation between the two. While night fishing around the full moon near an island I noticed when the Bats were flying the bass were active.

    Spock 😉

I use "worm juice" for two purposes first as a lubricant because I fish in grass a lot and the "worm juice" helps my plastic baits slide through easier. I use Fish Formula II or Baitmate (clear) with a ½ oz of 100% pure anise oil added; this is to mast any odor my plastic may have picked up. The only place y'all find 100% pure anise oil is at your local pharmacy, the rest will be 40-70% max
  6. Yes Sir 😉
  7. My 3 crankbaits for pre-spawn/spawn. Squarebill, Lipless, & Jerkbait. Grass, standing timber, brush, & riprap.
  8. @btoups Weather is always a issue on the Big Pond. This time of year any area on this lake will be productive. My suggestion would be start where you launch. Patroon has plenty structure & cover. The first creek of the main lake whose name eludes me at the moment is a good starting point.
  9. 6th Sense crankbaits mentioned above, plus their Movement 80X. While not considered a "Square Bill", don't overlook it. For shallow pre-spawn bass this bait is deadly.
  10. I have better results using Google except a little different than @casts_by_fly. Enter the word you want first followed by your name & then bassresource.com.
  11. I'm 73 so I remember that's all we had!
  12. There are several places I bank fish where I'm standing under trees casting. I fish a few docks I fish that are high enough to get under them. I fish Buck Brush on Toledo Bend where we actually stand on the front deck & pull the boat into the Brush. All require short rods

In the still of the night! That's when a Jitterbug shines. I know I'm a dumb Coonass but I thought wake baits were subsurface.
  14. Yes sir 😉 Off colored water warms faster, which means the pre-spawn/spawn happens sooner. We're talking ponds so you don't need temperatures that far off the bank to be fairly accurate.
  15. My opinion you're dealing with pre-spawn. You need to know the water temperatures to determine pre-spawn & spawn. Like @WRB mentioned pre-spawn is somewhere in the in the low to mid 50s. Once you have water temperatures watch your night time temperatures. When the night time temperatures exceed the water's temperatures you will really see temperatures rise.
  16. That's how we fish for Speckled Trout & Redfish.
  17. Bass & Catfish hang out on the same structures feeding on the same food sources. A trick I used for locating bass holding structure was look for trotlines. On Toledo Bend trotlines by law have to be marked & most anglers used bright yellow Prestone Antifreeze jugs.
  18. Birds: Egretta Are carnivorous, with their diet consisting of fish, frogs, lizards, snakes, turtles, crustaceans, such as fiddler crabs, crayfish, & shrimp. I'm looking for more than just a single bird. Coot Omnivorous. Eats mostly plant material, including stems, leaves, and seeds of pondweeds, sedges, grasses, and many others, also much algae. Also eats insects, tadpoles, fish, worms, snails, crayfish, prawns, eggs of other birds. Flocks tell me where submergent vegetation is thickest. Shell Beds: don't look for just shell beds but any (hard) bottom. Sand, clay, road beds ( dirt, gravel, or blacktop, or concrete). Animals: IDC (I don't care) Alligator, wanna know their where abouts for my safety.
  19. @A5BLASTER y'all getting rain?
  20. Lotta knowledge on the World Wide Web...very little wisdom. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. As with everything it starts with a solid foundation & that starts at home. My grandson Aiden is 17 & a senior, his source of bass fishing information is PawPaw, friends of the family, & bassresource. He's 💯% old school

Forgot to mention that's on a baitcasting setup. I understand from the get go I ain't gonna get distance & will be affected by wind. I position my boat accordingly
