  6. As Dads, Grand-Dads, or Uncles we need to accept the fact some kids or grandkids ain't gonna have they same passion we do. I raised 4 boys & 2 girls, none care to go more than casually. Out of 9 grandkids only 1 has a level passion close to mine. You have to evaluate each kid individually & adjust your teaching occordly. Aiden started with a Fluke, Lissie had one jump on a worm, Evan doesn't have patience so he perfers a spinnerbait.
  7. Couldn't resist ?
  8. Do I like fishing in the wind? No! Do I like fishing in the rain? No! Do I like fishing in the cold? No! Do I like fishing in the heat? No! But I do like catching bass & I understand the best times are when conditions are less than ideal for me.
  9. Some of the marshes I fish are 2' deep max. The bass were born there, they spawn there, they die there. If it doesn't kill em it ain't to hot or cold.
  10. Environment is the part of bass fishing we can't control, we just learn to deal with it. For me its a case by case basis, all options have to be open.
  11. I've heard all my life, the wind is your friend. NO IT AIN'T! I HATE IT! I'm talking sustained winds of 18-20+. Like @A-Jay I fish a lot of offshore structures where getting bit is about angles & boat positioning. Then there's ROF, I'm getting bites on a 3/16 oz, the wind picks up & now if the 3/16 reaches bottom it ain't nowhere near my target. Everyone says to just go up in weight, problem is the bass want a ROF of the 3/16 & thumb there nose at anything else. I ain't talked shallow water yet!

    @TnRiver46 Yes Sir ?
  13. Tight Eyes describes "dinks" because their eyes are tight together. Hawg ?
  14. A friend asked last night how to remove "slack", the steering wheel has to much side to side movement.
  15. I don't give my rods names, that way they don't get confused when I throw a worm on my jig rod. Powell Inferno 703C Medium Heavy X-Fast with a Lew's Team Lite.
  16. ☝️
  17. Something I throw the rest of the year, just at different locations...and of course in darkness.
  18. As a teenager in the 60s my hair was down to the middle of my back, stayed the length until 35 yrs ago. Ain't got the problem no mo!
  19. Zero experience with the Tatula XT I do however have 2 Lew's TP1 Black, one is TP1B70MH 7' Medium Heavy Fast. The TP1X 7' Medium Heavy Fast its rate 3/16-7/8 which is more than adequate for your intended use.
  20. Like the Marines, bass will improvise, adapt, and overcome all obstacles in all situations.
  21. I use the same jig rod for ponds, lakes, or rivers. Body of water got nuthin to do with it. Diawa Tatula TTU711MHXB 7'1" Medium Heavy X-Fast
  22. Never heard of that Hydrilla, Coontail & Milfoil die back during winter. Even when matted there are tunnels & caverns under the mat.
