personally..... i tried the tierra... it was ok at best.... i will say that the drag was very smooth.... but, in the end, i ended up swapping it for a saros.... never looked back, and its about the same price... just can't match a shimano.... thats my input.......go saros..........all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just found this thread...... but da*m..... thats one large koi!!! easily the 15lb you estimated.... never caught one....always thought of them as ornamental fish....but any fish thats 10+ will put up a fight.... nice work!!

with open water...... i use the lightest possible, just to set the hook.... i love to hear it go zzzzzzzzzzzzzziiiinnnggggggggggg!!!!!!!!!! If there is cover, well i reluctantly tighten it up...... then again, i don't fish for a living... i fish for fun... and fun to me = hearing the drag run!!!!! ;D
