  1. Congratulations to you and your family Kieth! Child numero uno those were the days RE: Pardon my "out of it" look, 3 days of nearly no sleep will do that to a guy! Here he is... Don't plan on this changing right away RE: "Grandpa (my father) shook his head and said "I can see it now, he'll be the first 5 year old in history that can back a trailer down the ramp" That has got to go down as one of the greatest BassResource.com lines of all time It will become a classic Congrats agian FFI - AKA Matt Crum
  2. We are at $2.19 today in places. I almost wish it would just stabilize so Opec wouldn't be quite so inclined to go nutso over it. This production cut is just plain gouging. I say a few well placed nukes is what's needed for price stabilization! As far as wind turbines they manufacture some parts (?) of those close buy as well or they assemble them. Just one blade requires and extra long extra wide semi trailer. We have hundreds of turbines dotting the country side 30mins in most directions RW we didn't bet but you win $2.19 a gallon is close enough. One question: you predicted the @2.00 / gal; do you think that that it would have happened even without the housing fiasco? Or was a financial fiasco of some sort in your prediction? 3. It's last years series. I think you could get it easily for that price. I bought mine at Dick's sporting goods
  4. I've wanted to try one for a while so I bought a brand new CuradoD while the prices were low ( $129). I tested it on a 30 degree day with a 30mph wind from the bank. I liked how it performed anyway. It will be next year before I get to test it much.
  5. Worst case I think you can type and as you go along you can periodicly highlight, select & copy your text. At least if something happens you've still got it on your clip board to cut and paste into word or something The info you've typed will always be a "control v" or right mouse click away
  6. Ole-B that is a good song. Disney had about 4 or 5 movies in a row with great main songs. Beauty and the Beast, Mermaid, Aladdin and poss others. Their were 2 guys who colaborated together coming up with the songs. One of them died after about the 4th good one. I don't think the songs have been quite as good since ( or my kids got older and I don't hear as many). Talent goes a long way and really shows in some cases. Sure the singers had to dotheir thing but those guys came up with several good ones spread out amongst different singers.
  7. Vince Giraldi's Linus and Lucy is the best. Get the CD to hear extended versions. Fantastic. I never thought in a million years I'd ever hear anyone agree with me on this! lol If you like that you might like music by George Winston. His albums December and autum were particularly good. I love "the holly and the ivy " by him as well. I still want to see him in concert one day. Bass boss your post makes no sense! I like the song
  8. I've got a virtualy new Gander Mountain GST series spinning reel. It is a GST40. This reel is a "virtual" clone of the the Pflueger Medalist which has a list price of $79 I think I have line on it; if not I will fill it before shipping. It also has an extra aluminum spool. I'd let it go for $30 + $8 shipping ( within reason in cont'l US ) I can give a couple of names from this sight as recomendations I can take paypal or money order or possibly a check you can e-mail me for pics or info e-mail is dad559@comcast.net FFI AKA - Matt Crum
  9. Kent you are relentless you should be in car sales!
  10. The piano theme song from the Charlie Brown cartoons
  11. Funny thing, It turns out that boostnut lives 5 houses up the street from me! It is either a small word or BassResource.com has gobbled everyone up(?) Going to look each other up soon when one of us is out in the yard. And yep Tom H you are on my way down. I figured we could carpool ans split gas or something. St Charles on the north side of STL MO has a nice BPS and not long ago opened a Cabela's not far down the street ( I believe). I've never been in a Cabelas and wouldn't mind at least taking a look in one. FFI- AKA Matt Crum
  12. You might be ok with the Mega or the Max. If you go to cheap in your experiment you will guarantee yourself not to like BC's due to frustration. One of your reels might do it. I'd try the Extreme or find a used or sale priced older Citica. You might keep an eye on this e-bay item as well. If ou could get this for $90 or less it would be a great buy (perhaps). The left hand might make it less appealing to buyers on e-bay. http://cgi.ebay.com/SHIMANO-CURADO-SF-251-LH-EXCELLANT-COND_W0QQitemZ160292850833QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item160292850833&_trkparms=39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A1%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
  13. I've got 12# (non Ultra ) on my Pflueger Supreme and my Citica and no problems w/o KVD.
  14. Their is but one right answer and the question can be answere mathmaticly. Hospital deductible = $500 lure = $6
  15. The ignition switch and the "stripped " part obviously weren't bad. You should at least not have to pay for the parts for those two items ( labor is a sep issue). I can tel this is a tougher than usual problem but something sounds out of whack troubleshooting wise here.
  16. I throw right and bat right on both. I tried the left hand crank and its not going to happen. I'll check next time out but somehow I cast right or with both and I think I use my right hand to feather the line to stop the lure where I want it to go. Not quite sure how I do this but it works for me. FFI - AKA Matt Crum
  17. I have not fished an Extreme I've only handled them at BPS. It was the smoothest reel I ever handled. On the same day I tried everything; Revo's , Curado's, Diawas you name it. Either it was just a lucky pick or they are really nice. I will probably bye one ( maybe as a present for my dad ) when they are on sale.
  18. You've got a good point Muddy. Some manufacturers have a no questions asked policy. I think it gets contagious and we take it for granted. Lets ask this question. You are in XYZ gocery store and drop a jar of pickles when taking it from the shelf and it breaks. Shouldn't you pay for it? Kind of the same thing but people ( myself included ) can get carried away. FFI - AKA Matt Crum
  19. You were disqualified 50 years ago!
  20. Be careful on BPS rods. According to the BolingbrooK IL BPS due to component costs they are tightening their standards. They said that the Johnny Morris's ( I think it was) had a lifetime guarantee but Extremes were one year. They still replaced my Extreme but they were hesitent. This is for damaged / used rods of course. Just unsatisfaction on a very new rod would be a different story of course.
  21. Slashing tires is criminal damage to property. I'd have parked around the corner. Losing air via a "leaky" valve is a different story. See how she likes changing a tire. If you spot her changing it I'd say "hey I'm sure glad you parked there instead of me" Then duck into a store with a back entrance and go about your merry way.
  22. Muddy this takes the cake.... you are flat out twisted! ( Meant as a compliment of course ) And no I don't qualify ( yet ) getting close but not yet! FFI - AKA Matt Crum
  23. Honestly though Hook we didn't have to do near as deep of a crouch. What do you think of those knee savers? They just seem like they would be awkward and maybe even put outward pressure on the knee?
  24. He has had enough issues that he doesn't need a court of law to decide his fate. If you or I were an a-hole at work and we aren't breaking any laws but can your employer fire you? Yes absolutely. All the guy had to do was walk away right or wrong and no problem. Just being in a bar with his history was really capitol STUPID!! He could have went home and had the bodyguard fired the next day but no that would be too easy. Working for an employer is a privilige(sp?) not a right so long as none of your legal rights are violated.
  25. Correction- you crouched for 2 hrs the umpire ( I was one ) crouched for 4hrs. That first game of the year always hurt. Of course we didn't have to run the bases between innings. I'm just sayin! FFI - AKA Matt Crum
