  1. Pads and eel grass are slim pickings around Drayton now. that’s why I go to Bear creek or the Ocklawaha and the little connections in between. Culprits still work here
  2. I fished the Ocklawaha 1/2/2022 which is close. 7 1/2 curly tail June bug color. All my bites were very close to shore and around the trees. Hope it helps on a side note, I didn’t know of George’s lake, I live near the north end of Lake George thought you were taking about that until I googled it.
  3. I carry a Leatherman skeletool , the most useful pocket knife I’ve ever carried.
  4. I got a small travel tackle bag and some new braid cutters. We want to go out west this spring and spend a couple months running around. I’ll get some fishing in too.
  5. 7 1/2 curly tail worm, June bug
  6. Congratulations on PB

  8. Depends…. For the blueish color of plastics I like black and green. For the greenish color I like black and blue.
  9. The whooper plopper for me, and I still haven’t caught one fish on them. But I’ll still keep one tied on and laying on deck.
  10. Happy Holidays to everyone and stay safe.
  11. I try to keep what physical skills I do have, ( casting, pitching ,etc) honed. By fishing more or just casting from the dock. As far as new stuff, I pick it up here on Bass Resource. Some of it works for me, some don’t. This site and the internet have helped a lot of people keep learning and improving their fishing skills.
  12. I’m slow…. I like to systematically work the bank or area. Short burst with the trolling motor and drift. I am really just slow poking along, I don’t get in hurry at all. Fishing is really relaxing to me, I bet the paramedics would want to put the paddles on me and yell “CLEAR” if they ever check my pulse while I’m fishing.

  17. I pretty happy where I’m at, I live on Lake George, which is St Johns River. Fishing’s pretty good here. Largemouth and strippers are here. The bream and specks are here too, if you want to fish for them. Shrimp come up the river in the fall and that brings reds and flounder.
  18. I have always casted right handed and reeled with my left. I can cast right hand and switch and reel right handed, but it feels awkward. Can I cast left handed?…… ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! I couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn , even if I was inside with all the doors and windows shut…..I’m a danger to myself and everything around me.
  19. They sent me the salt water catalog a couple of days ago.

  22. Jaws old man and the sea
  23. Congratulations
  24. I buy the Walmart ones, you know the dollar apiece ones in the box on the bottom shelf. Sometimes you might have to tweak them here or there, but no big deal. I like to put about 1/3-1/2 a curly tailed worm as a trailer on it sometimes. I save my old plastics and reuse those too if I can for trailers. I saw a guy on Utube reworking buzz baits and spinner baits from Walmart. It was pretty interesting.
