I bought some neds with ewg on eBay…. Hook size 1/0 and one pack of 4/0. They work as good as a Texas rig with a bullet weight as far a snags go.
  5. What happened? Did he hit something or something hit him?

  9. How sore s it today…. I’ve always thought it hurt more a few days later
  10. I will use my thumb on the spool to set the hook when I’m pitching and or flipping and as I’m free spooling letting the bait sink thru the cover. Sometimes I get a bite , but I haven’t rotated the handle yet to lock the spool, I’ll use my thumb to lock the spool to set the hook. I’ve fish hit as soon as it hits the water, so I thumb set until I get the handle turned. I'm not saying it the right thing to do, but it just seem like a natural reaction to me.
  11. Don’t give up ….. I still get skunked. You’ll learn a lot on this forum, I know I have. Let us know how you do on Monday. Post some pics of how you rigging you baits, I’m sure you get pointers from people here.

  14. I try and use the least amount of weight I can get away with to get the presentation I want…. or what they want and are biting. I try to weightless if I can, then I add as needed.
  15. I tried “Berkeley fire line” when it first came out, had it on one day, pulled it off. Couple years later I tried “Power Pro” fished with it for a while, I can’t stand the noise it makes when casting. I finally pulled it off all my reels and went back to mono.
  16. Oh yea!!!

  22. I bet it was quite the site ….. she was probably going ….” He’s got it , he’s got it …. Nope he don’t got it”…. Just as you fell in. Some of my best laughs have been at myself, glad you didn’t let it ruin your day.
  23. also I seen minnows dance and break the surface of the water when it thundered. So J Franco has a point too, transducer, trolling motor or anything your boat might be admitting into the water
  24. I don’t have an updated fish finder, I got a hummingbird 170 it’s basically is a depth finder compared to what out there today. If I had the new stuff I would use it, but it’s not the new electronics that tell you to stop and fish that little cove that you NEVER have caught anything ….EVER. It’s intuition, that gut feeling that says “ they’re in today”. got to use the tools you have and listen to your gut a lot of the time. I still haven’t caught anything in that stupid cove…
  25. June bug, green pumpkin and Okeechobee
