  4. Under an hour. Like others, I just have to unhook the battery charger hook the trailer to the tow vehicle and go.
  5. Why limit yourself to $80. You should really buy the best battery. I have an ACDelco M27MF that I use for my trolling motor and to start my outboard. It is now 8 years old and still going strong. This battery does cost about $130 - $140. I do feel it is a bigger bang for the buck. You can order them at any GM dealer. A few pep boys and the like sell them as well. Take a minute to google the model number and you will see this battery will serve you well. No matter what battery you buy the key to making it last as long as it can is to put it on a good charger as soon as you are done using it.
  6. White Castle?! that can be dangerous on a boat ;D I usually bring water, soda, hard boiled eggs or a sandwich of some type, Pretzels or chips. I keep two or three bottles of water on the boat at all times. You never know.
  7. Try the Lehigh river, there is a nice ramp where Rt 33 crosses it. the Delaware river is very close. Lake nockamixon is close it has a 20hp limit on motors. Beltzville is very hard to fish.
  8. Great free program http://www.irfanview.com/

  10. When people spell trailer trailor. people who ask questions that they can find the answer to by using google.
  11. "sand box" is what we call a section of the Schuylkill River. The lake I go to in Canada has a lot of places my family has named. "bass cove" is were I caught the biggest bass I ever caught. "Beaver point" is where there is a lot of beaver activity there are many stump fields and rock piles I just have them saved as stump1, stump2 or rock1, rock2 on my GPS "the honey hole" is a spot the we catch a ton of pan fish all the time "eagles nest" is a good spot that has an eagles nest. The tree blew down a few years ago and the eagles have moved their nest. but we still call that spot that name. The rest of the places we just use the island's name on the map. What is nice is that most of the islands have a sign on them telling you the name.

  13. Here is my story. It just happened in October of '08. I was I New Orleans fishing for red fish in some bayou with a guide and some friends. I decided to take break and just hang out. The guide was untangling a rod that was a mess. He cast it out for the final test and wham he hooks a fish. Since I was standing around just watching he handed me the rod and said here bring it. I grab the rod, it was setup for a lefty, I am right handed. I felt like a dufus trying to reel this fish in backwards. It was stripping line, going all around the boat, I'd get it close it would take off again. It took about 7 minutes getting this thing in. It turned out to be a big black drum.
  14. Actually, Just as an FYI in PA the fishing license is good from December to December. For example; You can buy your 2009 License on December 1, 2008 and your covered for the rest of 2008 and 2009. But if you a 2008 license it doesn't do you any good any way. It only works for you if you do not have the previous years license.
  15. It is a good show. I really liked the Philly show. it took place on the Schuylkill River. I fish it all the time.
  16. No closet but half a garage. With the boat and shelves it is half full. The other half is car stuff.
  17. My guess is, from looking at a map, most of lake is on the Alabama side of the border. The Georgia side looks more like a river. Georgia and Alabama have agreements with other lakes. http://georgiawildlife.dnr.state.ga.us/documentdetail.aspx?docid=7&pageid=6&category=fishing
  18. People who do not use the search function on a forum before asking a question that has been asked and answered 1000 times before.
  19. I agree with the rooster. You would want at least two batteries. One to start the gas motor and one to run your electronics. If and when you get a trolling motor you will want a battery for that. When you do put lights on I suggest using LEDs they consume much less power than standard bulbs.
  20. True. see here http://jgdarden.com/batteryfaq/batbrand.htm
  21. An aluminum trailer will cost a small fortune. You best bet you be a galvanized trailer. Yes, some one who sell boat trailers will be able to help you out with a trailer. http://www.loadrite.com Whatever trailer you get it should have at least 12" tires. Find out how much your boat, motor and a full tank of fuel weighs. Do not forget to add all the extra stuff you will carry in your boat. Rods, tackle, coolers etc...
  22. What do you need to know? I have replaced a couple of boat trailers. One boat that I had bought the trailer rusted away to almost nothing. I bought a new one and scraped the old one. I have a 12' boat that did not come with a trailer, so I had to buy one for it.
  23. Spring water is very bad. It has a lot of minerals in it that will damage a battery. Distilled water is the only thing to add.
  24. Maybe your dual pro is over charging. I leave my battery on the charger 24/7/365 when not on the water and never had an issue with low water. But then again it is maintenance free and there are no caps to take off.
  25. The one major thing I can think of is; Make sure you motor is properly warmed up before you give it full throttle. If you have an outboard make sure is it fully down, so the water drains out of it, before you leave it sit in the cold.
