  1. Good deal PondBoss! I was an avid jerkbait fisherman and for some reason I haven't been using them at all in the past few years. After reading your OP, I'm considering digging them out from the bottom of the box and giving them a whirl again. Great post and good luck out there.
  2. Easy Grundle, we chose to live in Taxachusetts where we have hurricanes and nor'easters. Peeps reside in areas where they think they have a better chance in life.
  3. I won't be able to get there, but concentrate on the southern and western sides of the pond. Bass will be on the outer edges of the weed lines and around some lily pads.
  4. 2 touchdown in Springfield, 1 unconfirmed in Palmer and 1 unconfirmed in Westfield. I hope the folks out there are okay. I did not hear of any deaths at this time. Looks like the storm is weakening, thankfully.
  5. System coming out of CT and heading to MA. Worcester County to be exact. Just heard it's shifting Southeast! That would be me!
  6. Construction?
  7. Ask your GF. JK of course.
  8. Well I went twice and caught 2 fish. As you can see I can't post them in the other thread, do pickerel count! Conditions weren't really good for topwater, to be honest with you. Anyone else try?
  9. That is a tough one A-Jay, even for a die hard B's fan who watched Bobby Orr's game winning goal against the Blues back in the day. The Nucks are a power house and like you said, they are both pretty even except for special teams. I'll take the B's in 6 and hope the refs swallow the whistles.
  10. Funny you mentioned that, I just found some the other day when I was cleaning out an old tackle box. Used them for smallie fishing a lot. I remember just using them on a jig, never thought about c-rigging. Great Post!
  11. Welcome to BR!
  12. I fish a swim jig as I would a spinnerbait. Some sort of stop and go retrieve and variations to that. Anything that makes the skirt flare out is when I get bit on it. PondBoss brings up a good tip in that he basically slow rolls it trying to hit any obstruction along the way. Again, just by hitting obstructions gets that skirt to flare out a bit. I usually use a single tail grub for a trailer, but the trailer your using and what has been mentioned above all sound very effective. I do like to burn them at times with, again, with pauses or even a few rod tip pumps. I really use it as a last resort technique and it has saved the the day for me a quite a few times.
  13. Buzzbaits are the worst for short striking fish, I usually wait until they take it down a bit before I set the hook. When I feel the rod load up a bit then I'll put the spurs to em. So yes, I fish them exactly like poppers, dogwalkers and prop baits.
  14. Well folks, it's here, a few more hours to go! This should be a lot of fun. Good luck to you all and happy fishing!
  15. Plenty of places down the Cape. Where are you staying on the Cape.
  16. Ahh, paint your toe nails before you go in. That'll take the curse off of it...LOL To be honest with you, I do use nail polish on spinnerbait heads if I'm only making up a few, but before I go to the store, I make sure I have a list of things to buy. That way when they start scanning things in, the nail polish get kind of lost in the mix. Oh and a line of peeps behind you always helps. They don't care what's being scanned at that point.
  17. That actually make 50-50 blades. Go to jannsnetcraft and check them out.
  18. Let me know how you do, I really want to try that one this year.
  19. There's really not much else to do down the cape during the off-season. "Man drove into an apartement building and got hammered." Sounds like a normal occurance.
  20. I know where my heart is and there are a lot of anxious B's fans aound here. For all the B's fans and the B's themselves, I really hope the refs swallow the whistle tonight and let em play. I like the B's chances 5 on 5! Nucks are strong, I'm not ure if any team out of the east will last 7.
  21. Carwfish come out at night....JIGS
  22. Be safe and have fun!
  23. I fish a samll res in Lexington a lot. It's reall close to my work, so it's ideal and not far from you. It's on Rte 2A if your interested I can give you directions. Noremega is right in Newton, I've never fished it and don't know why, but I plan on getting there this year. Charles River as well. I'm sure there's more, but those come to mind.
  24. Good deal Jugger, I'll add you to the list...Good luck. Be sure to post your fish catch on the other Northeast Topwater Tourney thread.
