We use to sell a ton of them when I worked at Cabela's, mostly because there was a video of them playing on loop with a display of them. Pike guys loved them, bass guys complained that they always just knocked the bait in the air and never got the hooks. I never bought one to find out.

We've had some not so great things going on in our little corner of the world lately, makes you stop and appreciate things sometimes.

I'm going to say it's going to depend more on Andy Reid not out-coaching himself than anything. The defense isn't good, but they're good enough that if they can get the offense the ball an extra time or two that they should have a good chance of winning the game, provided Big Red doesn't get cute with the play calling like he's known to do. Regardless, who saw this season coming for Mahomes first season as QB? With their schedule, no way I'd have thought they'd be 12-4. I wouldn't have been confident in betting they'd make the playoffs even. Exciting times ahead if he can continue to develop.

My first fish of the year was an "other" fish. Also took a minute to try to catch a couple of these guys just to see if I could.

That is one frustrating thing about them. A friend of mine has been waiting for them to release a couple of different models in lefty versions and it just hasn't happened.

I just got into plastics last year, exclusively doing repours as a way to do something with the excessive amount of old baits I end up with instead of just throwing them away. It works pretty well once I got the hang of it and the fish don't mind my funny colors.

At least with that I have that they acknowledged it was damaged prior to me receiving it so hopefully it makes the claims process easier. I was really hoping to get to test it out this week.

Well thanks to the good ol' USPS, I get to wait even longer to try my new jerkbait rod.

Don't overlook the regular Supreme. I have one on my deep cranking rod and it's a nice reel, and a steal for $40.

I use a YUM Craw Papi or Christie Craw for my trailer for a majority of my jig fishing. The Craw Papi is my first choice in colder water.

I always use a trailer hook with them and I think that helps hold them up. I usually get 4-6 fish per bait with them as a trailer. I actually buy a KO Fat Impact in bulk now and they are more durable than the original but still have great action.

3/4-1/2? Guessing that's either supposed to be 1/4-1/2 or 3/4-1 1/2oz. The former will work perfectly with a 3/8oz, the latter most likely won't load properly to cast a 3/8oz.

IPG is a 6 ratio and PG is a 5 ratio I believe. In Shimano reels they're right handed if they end in a 0, left handed if they in a 1. So a 200 is a righty, 201 is a lefty.

I always enjoyed reading the magazine when I was young, they had some of the best stories.

Only really 2 things in that lake capable of removing a chunk of the tail fin like that, snapping turtle or a gar. Maybe it's an injury from some kind of cover or making nest in the case of your fish but it seems unlikely.

It hasn't been revived because there's a 7 page long post pinned at the top of the page all about jerkbaits.

I stand unless I'm still fishing for catfish or something like that. I don't like having the seat post in the way and where the post is located in my boat makes running the trolling motor impossible in a butt seat.

That sounds like a blast.
