  1. As far as Pro Bass anglers I would like to fish with Paul Elias . He thinks outside the box , always swinging for the fences . Thats the type of guy I'd like to spend a day with .

My outdoor research sombriolet and my lucky St louis Cardinals hat. Check out that beer coozie in the first photo .
  3. My Mama told me the reason bass are so ornery is because they dont have sunglasses to protect those bulging eyeballs .

I think the flat bills are down right goofy looking .

Either a ball cap or a full brim hat . I bought the Outdoor Research Sombriolet last year . I'm pleased with it .
  7. I have had plenty of solid hook-sets and the fish gets off . It happens . Hooks dont always hook .
  8. Sounds like difficult conditions and I am not good at cold rising water but have had some luck in it. I search out steep 45 degree angle banks and try to find cover on them .
  9. i like to cook fish in Andys Red using a General Electric Fryer . It holds a 4 liters of oil and has a basket .I eat as many bass as I legally can from small lakes that need thinning out . I have a large cast iron fryer I rescued from a barn . It has three or four inch sides but I havent used it yet . Its pretty rusty but salvageable .
  10. My goal is to catch bigger bass than I did last year . I might have to branch out and try different waters . The big bass in my most fished lake are all skinny . There are way to many bass in the protected slot limit eating all the shad .
  11. That early in the year I would hit those steep channel banks first . The one north of the island and the south side of the island should be in direct sunlight . Big momma basss like to get shallow on them and soak up the sun .You might nail big fish by parallel casting a crankbait on them .
  12. I still have three well used old warts . They still get playing time .
  13. ...and so was the Aarbogast Mudbug .
  14. Wiggle Warts do not have a tight action . They are a wide action bait . So the rule of thumb on using tight action baits in cold water does not make sense to me.
  15. Thats a good question . I have always thrown them in warmer weather and early spring , so I guess they are good for both . I never understood why slim baits are suppose to be better cold water lures . I have fished fat cranks with good success in cold water . Just have to slow them down a lot .
  16. Texas rigged deep and shallow .
  17. I still fish a Jelly worm most of the time but any worm will do . As far as hard baits , my number one bait this past year was a hand poured buzzbait . The slop I was fishing in made it difficult for a lot of lures and the buzzbait worked well around it . The old Excalbur spinnerbait with counter rotating blades was a very close second .
  18. I have a "Bass Baby" with built in wheels . Its like those Pelican boats . I load and unload it by myself then wheel it down to the water . There are several lakes around that are elec only . The one I fish the most they loan out 14 foot jon boats and I have a lot of success there . I t takes about 15 minutes to hook up trolling motor , depth finder and strap in a seat . I take a seat from the Bass baby and tie it down with those racket straps .
  19. My favorite use to be the Suspending Rebel Shad R .I tried throwing the Shad Raps and it was like casting a potato chip .
  20. Sounds like you need to find a different hobby if it bothers you that much . Metal detecting might be fun for you . Some call it dirt fishing ..I get as much a thrill of finding an old silver coin or gold ring than I do catching a big bass .
  21. Berkely for hard baits . Their crankbait lineup covers everything .
  22. Top five are Rebels then three Natural Ikes , bottom photo Rebels .
  23. Manns Jelly Worms for me to and I still use them a lot . I liked the Ditto Gator Tail and Fliptail worms too .The very first bass I caught on a Texas rig bit a Mister Twister Twin Tail grub . Another angler told me he was catching fish on a jig and pig and I didnt have any . So I removed a black skirt from a spinnerbait and placed it between the hook and weight and Texas rigged the grub . I was bouncing the combo along a rip rap bank with the string between my index finger and thumb and felt a slight tap . I read about this in Bassmaster so I reeled in the slack and set the hook like a boss . Caught a keeper bass and it only got better from there . That was the most important bass I ever caught .
