  1. Venison sausage, cheddar cheese and crackers. Snickers if I need sugar.
  2. The footage is horrifying. I saw where one woman was swept twenty miles and managed to survive.
  3. Dam Catt, terrible news. I said a little prayer and have fingers crossed.
  4. This year the city council passed an ordinance making it legal to shoot fireworks between 8 and 10 on July 3rd, fourth and fifth. It sounded like Tehran here last night. Every direction loud booms and explosions. A house burned down .. I speculate this will be the only year for this.
  5. I fish a similar spot on a small lake. Theres not a lot of current flow. Its not a great spot, real shallow but catch an occasional bass from it.
  6. I targeted bullheads , sunfish ,channels, drum, carp, crappie, white bass, gar...before gravitating toward bass. I still enjoy tight lining on a river bank with live or prepared baits.
  7. I can catch bass in shallow moss choked ,over ran chara , gorilla snot infested water. When others are avoiding it , I get deep in it. Also ox-bow lakes and irrigation ditches. I love fishing clear deep waters too.
  8. I can only imagine what chemo is like. Dr didnt recommend it for me.
  9. I havent been doing well. I vomit any food or liquids . I've lost 30 lbs, a lot of muscle since may 19th. But two days ago I was able to eat a little. I rode my e-Bike for a few miles. Then the next day, I was sick all day. This morning , I feel much better. Rode the bike for a few miles and ate a little. I'm hoping the worse is over, get my strength back and be fishing this fall.
  10. Its cover. There has to be bass there at times. First thing that popped in my head is "Buzzbait"
  11. Square bills. Rebel Wee R, Rogers Big Jim, Rapala crankin raps. mid depth .Rebel Deep Wee R. Bomber model A. Rapala Fat Rap, Berkely Dredger 10.5, Storm Wiggle Wart. Deep divers over 10 foot . Norman Deep Little N, Berkely Dredgers. Rapala Cranken Rap 14.5. I'll add lipless. Red Eye Shad . Silent , double tap and rattling. I have one silent model that the weight is loose. Its my favorite but I rarely throw it because I'm afraid to lose it.
  12. I was self employed for 15 years after retirement. I would stop and fish whenever the opp. arose. Large Beetle Spins routinely caught nice bass in the middle of the day.
  13. The more fish I catch the better my odds at hooking a big one.
  14. I use to reverse the spools on Johnson Centurys. They had a switch to reverse reel. I used them the way you describe. Dont know if new 33's have that switch or not.
  15. As long as I'm catching I dont get bored . The more I fish them the more I learn them. Theres always something to learn that makes me want to go back.
  16. Swindle and Howe making costly mistakes. Cost Swindle a top ten.
  17. The diamond file on some leatherman's are great at sharpening hooks.
  18. I pour my own spinnerbaits and 1/2 oz is the largest weight . I make compact half oz baits with smaller blades for deep water. They resemble the Strike King Rocket Shad except with a regular hook.
  19. I have some DOA's .Not saying they are better than others but have caught a lot of bass for me. One of my favorite retrieves is to cast out , let it settle to the bottom , then lift the rod tip high and allow the lure to pendulum back on a tight line. Has been productive on points and rip rap for me. I use 1/8 and 1/4 heads.
  20. So you're at 7.5 percent?
  21. If its a skirted bait I like half oz. If I use a swimbait or something else , I like a 3/8th oz. That hunk of plastic adds quite a bit of weight. Too heavy and my buzzbait rod doesnt snap back causing my cast to go right of target.
  22. Happy to see the love for SAK's. I carry two knives. A SAK and a clip in pocket knife for fast one handed use. When fishing ,I'll have a Leatherman on my belt.
  23. I use to consider a 6 lber a big bass. Now 5lbs and get all giddy over a 4 lber. Havent caught a 7 in years.
  24. A lot of these lures listed I have .
