  1. I will watch most any Olympic event, particularly if it a medal game/round/heat. Some random thoughts after a few hours watching yesterday -Loved the way all the other competitors in women's snowboard slopestyle celebrated the winner's fantastic run -i thought the ROC women's hockey team was playing some kind of rope-a-dope strategy....'let's let the Americans have the puck all game and maybe they'll get tired' -Speaking of ROC...wth? The Russians can't participate because they cheat, but all their athletes can compete....so long as we don't acknowledge that the R in ROC stand for Russian. Huh??? -In an event with a measurable, objective, score....why do they toss in subjective judging of style points? Ski jump seems pretty straightforward....jump farthest...win. Why have style as part of the scoring? -Short track mixed relay skating is insane -I like watching cross country events...but only the last 5 minutes of a race....go ahead and fast forward through the first 90 minutes, please.
  2. Or.....use a Senko? Sorry...I really have a hard time keeping the smartassery gene repressed. But...you know, there is sooo much written and filmed about senko alternatives....it all might have more relevance for me if and when I can no longer get Senkos
  3. Thanks, @Boomstick. Appreciate you doing this. Good seeing you all this morning.
  4. I have that addict flaw...or personality. Been through same cycle for quite a few different vices...most beaten.... 7 stages... Initiation. Experimentation. Regular Usage. Risky Usage. Dependence. Addiction. Recovery. Once I hit full on bass fishing addiction, feeling successful became rare and fleeting, I'm kind of sad to admit. Finishing in the money is good....but if I'm being honest here, if I didn't win....or at least get in a position to win....well, I don't really take it all that well. Any one good bass...one outing...only satisfies for a moment. If I am out with kids, grandkids, wife....it is an entirely different experience. I still feel a lot of pressure...to put them on fish....but it is easier to get to 'success'. There are times most days when I do stop and take in all that nature is offering.....and acknowledge my good fortune in being able to do this....but it doesn't usually last for more than a few minutes at a time. There's always a weedline or laydown or brushpile ahead....and calling out....loudly.... I'm not really seeking recovery any time soon...but maybe I can step it back to dependence without going the whole cycle.
  5. For me, deep cranking not bad... pitching took a lot of practice, but now seems easy...punching still extremely difficult for me. I almost never stand, however.
  6. Last Lowrance I had was an old Hook. Not up to date on newer models. But a quick scan on their website led me to believe the HDS model might not have side imaging. I wouldn't consider going without SI after two years having had it. I had to get a BerleyPro ducer cover for my Hobie, but SI would be on my list of must haves.
  7. Never watched one streaming or even live on TV, but I do set the DVR to record anything bass fishing, so I watch some of both if it's on the DVR. I'll watch either without much preference. I did think BASS attempt to go live for 4 or 6 hours straight was a bit of a fail. They need to work on the slick MLF-like delay described by @EWREXabove ....a bit too much nothing there. I will say i really enjoyed the late season tournament ....MLF, in Minnesota, I think....where the pros didn't know where they were fishing until shortly before they got there. That was a top notch broadcast weekend. One thing that annoys me is replaying same catches over and over and over....I believe it is BASS that does it most....I get that over several hours, different viewers are popping in...but for those of us watching straight through it is very tiresome
  8. Hated taking them off.....that's probably the main reason I stopped using them.
  9. It's a good thing. Because Coach Bo has been dead for some time.
  10. One brand's fast is another brand's extra fast. All other things being the same, either will do....my 'concern', about XF, if any, would not be about hookset, or 'bait control'....but how well it delivers the weights you will use.
  11. Frogg Toggs Pilot II set 190 (bibs free) https://www.froggtoggs.com/pilot-ii-guide-jacket?quantity=1&custcol_item_color=74
  12. The Rooney Rule was DESIGNED to allow appearance of fairness. And to make it easy to appear fair....and NFL dumazzes couldn't even fake it. Don't know where this goes, but I'm ok with some flames and rolling heads. Flores was always just a placeholder. He knew that....and probably would have been ok with it if he thought he got a fair look after
  13. I don't know about others, but in my head I can make a distinction about 'appropriateness' between Fighting Sioux, Blackhawks, Braves.....and Redskins.
  14. I don't know about bias....but I have developed a unique level of ignorance when it comes to movement in pads. I can spend hours casting at likely carp and snakeheads....and probably otters and beavers and muskrat, too.......and wind.....but...you never know....that next movement might be (WILL BE) a LMB
  15. Not open hook, but I really like FinTech. They have a couple styles that might work for you.
  16. Low key. Not big enough to earn the massive drama available elsewhere. Seemed pretty decentralized, so impressions are likely dependent upon how your local group(s) is/are. I am not seeking them out, but if a local event pops up in between others, I would probably fish it.
  17. Same here. But I would like to see Shooter McPherson with a walk off 60 yarder.
  18. Still curious, I guess
  19. Smart money here has been on Commanders for weeks. hooray. Fresh start on a new era of futility. Fans overwhelmingly wanted Red Wolves. Dan Snyder apparently unwilling to pay T-Wolves enough to prevent a lawsuit.
  20. Its pretty easy...just get some 24 ga. wire at the hardware store....couple of needle nose and a pair of dikes....2 or 3 wraps, twist and cut.
  21. Beware the fisherman who's casting out his line Into a dried up river bed But don't try to tell him 'cos he won't believe you - Tony Banks
  22. I'm guessing there will be fewer fans of WFT on sports radio here calling in this week and saying "Maybe we should go after Garropolo"
