WRB's 5 Biggest Bass Stories ~ Tom Young Simi Valley Ca
Not a Pilot for the F14, a maintainer, flight deck troubleshooter, Collateral duty inspector, Aircraft Final Checker, Quailty Assurance Representative & a host of other fancy Naval jargon.. There is no other Aircraft on ANY Carrier that was more powerful than the F14. The afterburner on the A series was required for catapult launch or airfield launch so I sported 2nd degree burns on the neck any number of times.. we wore bandannas on the deck, around our face & nose to help protect us from that & blowing non-skid, bits of safety wire and other potential FOD, approved by the Airboss of course 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 no AB required on the B model. Unless, it was packing a John Wayne load..😝

Weirdest catch of all time…
A can of SPAM, sure enough in about 75, throwing a crappie jig in a small creek.. casting into a deeper section and started my retrieve and the jig hook grabbed it and I reeled it in. Me & buddy’s were cracking up, of course we had to open it….. it was green and had a very gross odor.. I always thought I’d find a message in a bottle, or a mermaid.🧜♀️ instead I got a can of spam 😂

WRB's 5 Biggest Bass Stories ~ Tom Young Simi Valley Ca
That’s incredible. Tom mailed me out 4 of his hair jigs which I received this very day & you better believe I’m going to fish them. Thank you Tom. ✝️

Daiwa Salamandura SV TW 150 (2024/25) VS Shimano Curado 150 M (2025)
@bulldog1935 I did not know the HD was built with a stainless pinion nor the G model Zil. My personal opinion is Daiwa is making the best gear set on the market for these reels.. let’s put it another way, it’s money well spent.

Fishing in the dark/at night - never done it, thinking about it for 26' - suggestions ?
Most especially in Florida, Ocala National Forest, as well as Orange-Lochloosa. In the 80’s had to lay low one night when some gator hunters were doing illegal hunting..

Why BC reels Not Shimano/Daiwa are No-Go's?
It’s reminding me of the Senko vs knock off threads.

Why BC reels Not Shimano/Daiwa are No-Go's?
As far as composite materials it’s yesterday, now and the future. I have 1 Daiwa Zillion 1016 and it has a composite gear side cover. No problem, no flex, I don’t see why anyone would whine over composite materials, whatever they are comprised of. Besides, we can’t prove otherwise..even aluminum alloys have changed, gear sets, etc. buy the cheaper reels and try them and do reviews, I like to read them. As for me, I’ve purchased 5 Zillions this year & 4 rods.. My Shimano Bantam 8:1 is a little tank.

Best way to store buzzbaits/spinnerbaits?
I use the large Plano box to store spinnerbaits at home full time and transfer them to a tackle binder for trips out.. I never take more than a half dozen with me. (Day trips) Long term vertical storage is the best method to keep skirts from developing kinks, deformation.. tackle binder slips into a smallish backpack with other gear. Perfect for me. Tackle binder works good for senkos, jig trailers, hooks, etc

Big jig trailer recommendation?
@woolleyfooley You can trim those down and thin them out even. I bought maybe 5 dozen jigs this year and I’ve modified a few this way.

Going finesse for 2026
Shimano even named a flipping reel after that lake Tom is talking about. Shimano Castiac

Big jig trailer recommendation?
Strike King use to make one called the Lobster, but I haven’t seen these in quite awhile..you might look where musky lures are sold for sizable baits such as these.

Purpose of Deep Tackle Trays?
Whatever fits..

Your baitcaster suggestion for every tier
Is that picture for real? A dozen Bantams? Are those tubes of Mega strike maybe? Now for a performance question, have these been used in Mexico by chance?

Your BFS experience
Exactly.

Big fish eat peanuts
10-4 I have yet found a line that will hold up on rocks in rivers or rip rap in reservoirs.. I’ve had some heartbreak jig fish in rip rap from line breaks. In fact I don’t fish jigs in them much now.

A lot of hate on here towards spinning gear & I'm not gonna tolerate it anymore. 😝🤣😂

Big fish eat peanuts
Nice fish for you both. I didn’t read anything about your son breaking off, what line were you using? What about your son? Nonetheless congratulations on what sounds like an amazing trip..

2026 MLF Toyota Series

Ark Buyer Beware
She got a big mouth for sure 😆😂

Heat shrink tubing
Yes. Put on some warm clothes and get the sandpaper.. sorry but other than that, remove it and re-install with new.. Not trying to be a smart ass but I’m not sure there is another solution

Floating Jerkbaits
@woolleyfooley top 3 are the Luckycraft SR100 (shallow runner) Bottom picture are the Spro Mcstick which gets down 3-5’ but if you’re savy, you can work them much shallower. @Mike L that color is just crazy good and I have that color scheme in a deeper diving jerkbait as well. I simply don’t know why but it’s killer good. People will say color doesn’t matter but it does matter!
