All stay bagged. Some are in cardboard boxes, stashed, some are in tray less Plano plastic boxes, some are in a Kentucky lake, go fast backpack.. Different fish types are all separated from one another and this is further complicated with saltwater being involved. It’s never ending 🙉🙉

Man I would loved to have had that 1000, built very very well. Almost no plastic inside it. My favorite spinner I’ve ever owned. Had it on an Avid ML rod back when they put alconite guides on them. It was stolen off my Skeeter when I was on an emergency bathroom break. Not a Ajay type either! Loved that rod and reel. I will say the Stradic FM 1500 is very nice. (Had a unrealized, bad gallbladder) You know I thought that was a real lake for awhile 😂🤣😂

You might be able to get two BPS cranking rods for that money.. my son uses them, I use IMX rods so I’m afraid I’m out of touch on the cheaper rods. Brian is right though, one rod can't cover the vastness of crank baiting..

Yes, I know, I understood your op..I get typically a 9-10 dollar charge from several Japanese vendors. I asked @bulldog1935 about it. (He has dealt with Japan for a couple decades and has helped me with some of the finer details) and it’s a charge to convert.. so you were right on with your assessment.

It’s becoming or has become a much tougher sport fish for a variety of reasons. I would always, always have rigged up a horizontal presentation (spinnerbait, rattle trap etc) and a vertical presentation ( 7” plastic worm, jig & trailer) I’m not familiar with western waters but I’m well versed on highland reservoirs etc. Tom aka wrb can definitely lend a hand on your western lakes. You might look up Tactical Bassin on YouTube, they were California fishermen and still have a lot of older videos posted. (They live in Tennessee now however) Nonetheless, don't beat yourself up about it.. we’ve all been where you’re at. Make electronics your friend. 😉

Take pictures of the reel and attach those with an Email. Describe what you have discovered and perhaps they can lend a helping hand in the identification of this reel and the needed part..

You’ll hear it said that in cold water you must slow down.. It's not a hard and fast rule. Sometimes speed is still going to illicit a sudden strike response irrespective of cold water.

Cork all the way, but I have EVA, and 4 rods with Carbon, eva just feels lighter than even Carbon but it can be slick, with that said I have 1 rod with carbon that is as slippery as ice and I have no practical solution for that. 1. cork 2. EVA 3. Carbon 4. Hypalon I have one salt, rail rod with this material Oh, full grip over split, although I love Trey’s split grips on his spinning rods. Talons split eva is nicely proportional but still slick.

I get mine custom from a guy off eBay. Mike's from @Siebert Outdoors makes some very nice jigs of all sorts and many are done w Owner hooks.. Owner are my personal favorite but he also has them w Mustad and Gamakatsu hooks. He will wire tie them as well. Lots of modern color schemes as well as the classic colors. Mike, I’ve looked and I’m not seeing Tom’s feather jigs, are these still available?

I’m not an engineer but I’ve often heard this, as far as a user, I like them a great deal. I’ve several rods with sic, zirconia, alconite, aluminum oxide. I’ve had one salt rod with aluminum oxide crack.. Fish with confidence.

My guess is a slightly out of spec bearing.. if the noise is bothersome, you can replace it

It’s the screws in these reels that I hate, outside of that it’s not bad. Take pics like bulldog says. I did this working on rooftop HVAC electrical, before pics I’d draw a schematic.. I've not had work done yet by DVT, but he’s been a sponsor here for more years than my 13 and I’ve heard all good testimony.

Those who mention spinning for these light baits, the problem you’re going to have w using mono is going to be line twist. If you’re going to truly work this bait have an extra spool. It’s worth the cost to have, particularly for tossing these potato chip baits.. I used the shad rap occasionally in Florida and have caught fish to 6 pounds on them.. Imo, BFS, with a mono spool and a rod that will properly load that light bait is a better choice.
