  1. The steez rods come from China. Forget all about 24% and Japan. It’s irrelevant. @ABU is overpriced Can you show me where I can find the steez AGS for sale outside of the USA? Being serious, not trying to argue.
  2. They look similar but the ridges on the ones OP posted are definitely smaller and don’t stick out of the sides as far as the eerie darter. OP, are they called “kill shots”?
  3. Just got confirmation from a retailer that they are required to match msrp starting July 1st...
  4. Just got confirmation from a retailer that they are required to match msrp starting July 1st.
  5. I’d like to try these as well. I wonder how they compare to flukes, caffeine shads and d shads. I’d like to try and find the weight of each of them.
  6. Neat! Definitely something the fish haven’t seen.
  7. Yeah that’s what I was thinking as well but I’m really curious about the Expride B. I’d like to know if it’s more sensitive than the champ extreme in general.
  8. Not really interested in the steez AGS now that it costs $670. I’m really just curious if the Expride b casting rod is more sensitive than a champ extreme. Looking to possibly try something new without breaking the bank. Thanks for the reply!
  9. Thanks for the video. One thing I’ve always wondered about is braided line for top water. I’ve always had it hammered home that you need “give” to fish treble hooked baits, yet everyone seems to fish treble hooked top waters with braid. Can anyone explain how it’s possible to use braid with treble hooks?
  10. How sensitive are these rods compared to say the Expride b, Dobyn’s champ extreme, Okuma x series etc?
  11. Exactly. Steez = $670 for a rod made in China with a limited 5 year warranty vs NRX+ = $650 for a rod hand built in the USA with a lifetime warranty and xpeditor replacement plan. Plus the NRX+ is the more sensitive rod from everything I’ve seen. It really seems like a no brainer at the new price.
  12. Sorry to revive such an old thread, but I thought it would be better than to make a whole new thread. I’ve been using champ extremes for over a decade and love them but lately I’ve been reading/hearing that they just don’t have the sensitivity of competing rods. I’m very curious about the Expride b vs the champ extreme. I’m more interested in casting rods though. Has anyone owned or used both the Expride b and the champ extreme? How do they compare as far as sensitivity is concerned? I know you say the extreme doesn’t have the sensitivity of the NRX+ but what about the Expride b? How does the extreme compare to it?
  13. I’m not a big fan of spinning rods and I also worry a spinning rod won’t have enough power to pull a big south Florida bass from the grass. To everyone saying the 7’2mh might be a good choice for weightless senkos/flukes, have you fished lightweight baits on them? I have no experience with the Expride B but from what I’ve read it seems they’re a bit heavier than what their rating says, so I’m worried a MH would be too stiff to cast weightless plastics.
  14. Everything else on Daiwa’s site is priced the same as major retailers. I’d bet within a few weeks all stores will be selling the steez AGS for $669.99. Do you have any insider info to the contrary? Yup. Wish I had the money at the moment. On the other hand, I don’t like the idea of giving any money to Daiwa USA out of principle.
  15. Interesting, especially considering the 24% tariff is NOT in effect right now. It’s been paused since last month. Exactly. Tariffs are paused. This is Daiwa USA hoping we blame tariffs for the price increases even though it’s not a factor. Yes. De minimis is in effect for all countries except China/Hong Kong. He was charged by DHL on an order under $800 because DHL is lumping shipments together.
  16. Are there any p5 rods that would compare power/action wise to a Dobyn’s champion extreme 745?
  17. Are you saying you don’t think stores are going to have to raise prices too? 6’6 is a bit short for my taste. I like 7’ and longer. I’m not opposed to trying a shorter rod though so I’ll definitely look into it. Appreciate the info! 👍
  18. Any suggestions for alternatives to the steez AGS power pitch? Daiwa raised the price from 550 to 670. Definitely not paying that.
  19. Just saw on the Daiwa site today the price has jumped from 549.99 to 669.99. Absolutely crazy! Guess my thread about the power pitch is moot now. 😔
  20. Drx is the xtasy, right? That’s good to hear. I plan on putting a steez a2 on it which weighs 6.7oz so that should work well. Thanks for the input!
  21. I’ve spoken with a rep at Okuma and he stated the correct rating is 1/4-3/4oz. Tackle warehouse has it listed wrong. Like you said, the Okuma site lists the correct weight range. The rep I spoke too said he loves the 7’5mh for chatterbaits/spinnerbaits so I’m sure it will be great. I just wanted a second opinion. I wish I could find a local retailer that has them stocked so I could feel it in hand first. I’ll probably just buy it from TW and try it in the backyard like you said. Thanks.
  22. Dang. I don’t have a finesse setup at the moment.
  23. Ah ok, that’s what I thought, but wasn’t quite sure. Thank you!
  24. Thanks! Do you need a finesse setup for this bait?
