Stay or go! Not enough or too much?

New Year's resolution number 1- Try to be more patie....nevermind, this is taking too long.

Can't decide. Might be... or maybe.....

13 degrees in eastern PA with predicted low of 5. My sister in Orlando called last week to tell me its 75 and sunny. I really should stop taking her calls. Most of the lakes here are frozen and so are most of the people. Its not even January or February and its already too dang cold. Its gonna be a long winter.

I was thinking about the curse. That Madden video game has nothing on me. If I'd picked New England Tom Brady would have torn an ACL getting out of the Jacuzzi at the mansion. Or maybe slipped on some spilled avocado smoothie and been forced into the NFL concussion protocol. Main thing is I got New England to win the Super Bowl in the 2018-2019 season. Let the curse begin.

As usual, the curse continues. Both teams eliminated from playoffs. I should have predicted New England.

That video boils my blood. Having had a few interactions with jet skiers over the years that I had a jon boat I know how aggravating they can be but to drive directly into the sun when visibility is hampered is pure stupidity. Where are this kid's parents? My parents would never let me near a jet ski at 13. When I got my learner's permit to drive my old man reminded me every day that I was driving a 3 ton machine that could kill someone if I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing. I guess because its on the water people think its much safer. What harm could it do? Well I guess that kid found out.

I'll tell a story on myself, one I don't repeat because of ego issues. I was fishing with a friend in what use to be my 12' jon boat (that I had sold to him). My friend is not a great fisherman but he is ok with a spinning reel. I was trying to convince him that he should learn to use a baitcaster. Telling him how great it is and how much longer you can cast with it and to prove my point I rear back and throw what would have been a very long cast if the spool hadn't engaged. The 3/8 ounce weight on the line swung back at me and connected right in my nether regions. I dropped the rod and reel and clutched the area and my friend burst out into uncontrollable laughter. Every time I get to full of myself he brings that day up.

Have you tried the new claymore mines? They're upgraded with lasers. If that don't scare them, nothing will.

I think the main things in preventing being a victim of crime, whether its at home or traveling with a boat, is to not make it convenient to steal and not to make it quiet to steal. Remove electronics, lock storage hatches and I like the idea about bells on the boat cover. Even coffee cans with rocks in them can make a racket if attached to the boat cover.

The Shimano Curado 70 and 200k are both under your price range and are, from what I hear, great reels. I got a Curado 200 I this past spring and it was a great reel. Smooth and easy to cast. Not to mention the quality.

Terrible loss. Especially when we were sooooo close to the win.

Robert Earl Keen definitely a 10. Not huge hits but great songs. My older brother was big on the Clash. That's how I got into it when I was young.

We hit the single digits last night. I just looked at the ice scraper and shook my head. Pulled out a bottle of de-ice spray. Its the only thing that works for me at those low temps.
