  1. 11 rods in my boat today all straight braid.
  2. The place down the street from me is weeding in good but i didn't want to deal with the down and up hill launch and load to get in and out on a tweaked knee so i went to another place with an easier drop. After 6 hrs. Only got 4 two-ish lb. Bass i cashed out. Couple hrs later i decided to hit the 1 spot where you can do some punching from shore on the place down the street. Only 1 bite but it weighed 5-7 on a skirted punch rig big bite baits yo mamma.
  3. A lightweight fly fisherman's vest works good for this . I have one i use when i wade the river behind my maine house.
  4. 50 ft. Is still alot of line out for punching. I think we're intermingling pitching and punching. When punching I personally like my line to enter the water between 6in. And at most no more than 3-4 ft. Beyond to where my rod tip is above the water.
  5. I was using a 7 had an accident with that reel and now use an 8. I dont notice any difference at all. The comment above about having 30-60ft of line out does have me a bit confused as most of my punch fish are caught in 5-8 ft. Of water, some shallower, some as deep as 10-12 ft. But even then i would have to make a fairly long pitch in terms of punching to have even 20 ft. Of line out as for me punching is a vertical presentation.
  6. Oh yea for sure its not often i get a 4lb.+ skunkbuster. i would have been just as happy if he was 4"?
  7. Got out for about 4 hrs. Today after work. Could only muster 4 half-hearted swipes which yeilded nothing and 1 random annihilation strike on a toad that was my only fish of the day that weighed 4-1.
  8. Yes you would want to increase the curl of the blade to 'grab' more water as it turns not bend them out.
  9. It can but plain aluminum can be bought to turn either way so why bother, however i did once try to bend a gold blade to turn ccw but the plating cracked and flaked off.
  10. I've got a couple i throw. I get the blades from l.p.o. I would 've liked to also make a double blade buzzbait with copper but they ( copper blades) arent available in counter clockwise veesion.
  11. Fished today from 7-12 caught 7 total with 3 good ones in the mix. Got a 3-4 (no pic) on a double wide beaver, a 3-10 on a toad and a 3-15 on a frog.

  14. Got out for a total of 8 hours today. Started at 1 place fished 7-11 got 3 but wasnt feeling it so i packed up and headed back to the place that was good to me last week. Fished there until 3 catching 6 more with 2 good ones weighing 3-10 and 5-2 punching double wide beaver.
  15. I do this all the time. To me drag is a waste. Why let the fish control when and how much line to take. Up here we call that a 'rocket rig' as in woonsocket. ?
  16. I see what you meant now. I misunderstood. Yea i don't think thats an issue.
  17. About 1.5-2 years ago outlet bait was clearing these out in a 20 for $10 sale That seemed a pretty good sign they were probably discontinued. I bought 20 packs,10 gp. And 10 gp/purple flake.
  18. I find it can be more the opposite, that if the skirt is to long it hinders the trailer claws.
  19. Got out today 7-12 only managed 4 bass , 2 on a Spinnerbait and 1 on a fluke that weighed 3-11 and 1 on a yum woolybug that we nt 4-8.
