False. Flourocarbon stretches differently and more than mono. It also does not recover from it. Get 50 LB Vicious No Fade Braid 12 lb diameter. Forget the leader. Microguides don't work well with leaders. Just a other knot to break.Braid is easier to cast and easier to get a backlash out of if you know how.

How tight is your tension knob on the handle side.

Lew's bb1. Has plenty of line capacity and casts really far. The drag is strong and smooth.

The wax is the worst part of power pro. Once it's off the color is gone and it actually casts better. I really don't think the casting issue has anything to do with your line. What's probably happening is it is so limp now that it starts to loop at the beginning of the cast.

Not a power pro fan but that's not your issue. If you are backlashing 20 feet into your cast then you do not have enough. Centrifugal brake. Centrifugal stops backlash at the start and backs off as the casts progresses. At this point it's a combo of spool tension and thumb. Also I'd try oiling your spool bearings. Oil will slow down the spool. just one drop each side.

What lb test braid and brand ?

Old power pro is outdated. There are so many braids out there that are way better. Suffix 832 or Viscious No Fade Braid are 2.

I love centrifugal brakes. Especially Lew's 27 point externally adjustable ones.

I'm not saying you can't but it's a lot easier to throw 50 LB. When you aren't used to braid.
