i cast 1-10 ned heads with a trd on them with my custom lite regular spool.the shallow spool has to be able to go lighter. i also do that on a medium xf rod. that reel on a light action fast dobyns sierra finesse rod should cast fine.

Gotta disagree. Centrifugal backs off as spool slows.

I have 2 regular custom lites. They cast light lures fine. Why people say a centrifugal brake is not good with lite lures is beyond me.

I use 50 LB 832 for cranking. It's 12 lb. Diameter. It offers protection in rocks that you don't get with thin braid. I never use braid less than 50 on a baitcaster.

I crank with braid because I want to feel everything. It's a reaction bite. You hitrocks and pause restart set hook and reel them in. Braid makes this way easier. I fished them on Sufix Advance Mono when I want less line visibility. I'm not convinced it matters and haven't been for 30 years. I hate flourocarbon and it doesn't recover when stretched a lot so I don't use it.

At 14.99$ a spool I wouldn't call it inexpensive. The price of sunline is just way to high IMHO.

You measure 10 feet of line and stretch it with a scale of it gets a foot longer that's 10 percent. I'm not knocking bg. It's great line. I used it for years. But to say there is no difference is totally inaccurate.And yes if I don't use something it doesn't mean it sucks it just means I like something better.

Totally not true. Stretch isn't even comparable .I've tested the advantage and it Stretch's around 13 percent and that happens close to max pressure. Most mono including bg Stretch's 20 to 30 percent.

You may have trouble finding someone who fished both. I have only fished the Advance. I love it. I have tested stretch at approx 13 percent and it happens right near the break strength. I wouldn't use it on spinning. It's awesome on baitcasters. I think it's more sensitive than flouro. Have had no problem with abrasion resistance. Ive used many other mono lines since 1968. Stretch is definitely half of most mono lines. Sensitivity is far superior to the mono and flourocarbon lines I've used.

I'm not knocking Diawa but I've always thought they were ugly. Just not my style. Shimano was always better looking IMHO. The most ergonomic comfortable reel to me is the Custom Lite. That of course would depend on your hand and finger sizes.Between the 4.9 oz weight and the size and shape I find it hard to put down. I just wish it came in a 6 and 8 speed also.

Flourocarbon does not recover from max stretching.
