Are There Times When Fish Just Don't Bite?
Absolutely!!! Fish can shut down for a long time especially in the cold.Thats why I laugh when guys complain they fished 2 hours and caught nothing.

Shimano SLX or Lews Speed Spool LFS
Yeah sure. And Toyota airbags fit Honda and Chrysler because they get them from the same manufacturer..

Daiwa Reels
How so ? There are no American made low profile reels made from all American parts. That boat sailed long ago . So all I can do is support American businesses at this point. Nothing Ironic about that. Also aren't reels bought out of USA not warrantied?

Shimano SLX or Lews Speed Spool LFS
every lews ive purchased was made in korea. not a single one says made in china on it. my 2 custom lites say korea also.doyo does have factories in china but a quick internet searcg shows no difference in quality control. some reels may have parts from both china and korea. It also makes no difference as Shimano and Diawa both buy parts from Doyo as previously discussed on this forum. It sounds like the 60s when people were saying not to buy Japanese products.

Daiwa Reels
I'd never buy overseas. I'd rather pay more and support or business over here.

Shimano SLX or Lews Speed Spool LFS
I second that. I had 2 of the previous generation problem free for 8 years and now my daughter has 2 more years on them still no issues. Only reason she has them is I upgraded to custom lites .

After 34 years of right handed baitcasters I switched all to lefty. Still getting used to it but I do like it better.

High pressure vs Low pressure knots
Wow !!! My brain hurts !!!! Way to much overthinking here. I use a Palomar on everything and have never had a knot fail in over 30 years I've been using it.

What do you use to cut braid?
Braid scissors.

The braided line dilemma
You guys obviously don't fish heavy veggies. A 7 lb bass with a ton of weeds 15 feet down and wrapped up requires brut force.

The braided line dilemma
Never had a spinning reel dig. Only happens with baitcasting.

The braided line dilemma
I've said it before and I'll say it again. NEVER USE BRAID UNDER 50 LB. TEST ON A BAITCASTER !!!! I'm a big 832 fan but I might try Vicious No Fade Braid this year.

Test Your Braid!
Don't know but I'm anal about it. My buddy never glues his and has no issues. In my head a frayed tag end looks like a tiny bit of weed and I never catch fish with a lure if it has weed on it. I completely loose all confidence.

Biggest Bass of 2023 ~ What Bait ?
Jig in a laydown.

CRB lzr casting guides
I am definitely brand loyal to Fuji guides. I'm not saying others aren't good but I've had very few issues with Fuji guides. I've never had any issues with their alconites or sic guides .

I’m sorry for all of the posts but I am sort of confused and receiving conflicting information. Everything I’d read and heard up to this point has said people throw 6” Bull Shads and other small swimbaits (1-3 oz) on traditional swimbait rods
That's some of the best advice I've ever heard. Fish what you have see if you like it. If not go from there. There is no wrong way. Not everyone fishes the same.
