First Bait-caster Reel Recommendations
It's lighter. They are both good reels. Custom pro might be a better value.

Daiwa Tatula CT 100 Brake dial slips?
I've heard of guys grips turning the dial before.

A lot of my hits come away from cover
I do what you do until the fish demonstrate where they are and what mood they are in. It's possible the bass follows your lure and finally decides to eat it instead of wasting energy chasing it.

Lew's Pro SP Baitcast Reel
Going to be my next purchase so I can't comment on my opinion yet. I did see a guy on you tube using it for bfs and he loved it. He was having no issues with lite lures.i guess I'll know better when I finally buy one.

First Bait-caster Reel Recommendations
This is a no brainier. At 299$ I would get a Lew's Custom lite at 4.9 oz. It casts great and is extremely hard to backlash. I have 2 and find it hard to put them down. At a 7.5 to 1 ratio it can do a lot of things. It has a carbon drag with more than enough power.

What's your favorite all around monofilament weight (for casting setups)?
Guys he meant as a general all purpose line I think. We all use different sizes for different apps. For all purpose baitcasting I use 14 lb.

Is rod/reel aesthetics super important to you?
Never in a million years. Not even if you gave me the money.

Is rod/reel aesthetics super important to you?
I think it looks lighter so it feels good to my brain. But when they first came out the rod balance was not as good so lightening the butt made it worse. I definitely like the look.

Is rod/reel aesthetics super important to you?
I used to like full grips but since rod balance has gotten way better and rods are lighter I love split grips.

Is rod/reel aesthetics super important to you?
Grey or black reels on grey rods no varnish. No bling . Prefer cork handles. Use rod and reel covers.

have you ever wondered why?
Wax helps prevent rust by protecting the paint. Ceramic sealer is even better. Any scratch should be immediately touched up. Undercoating protects the backside and frame. For some reason dealers stopped selling it.i knew a guy who mixed used engine oil and diesel fuel and used it as undercoating. His work trucks never rusted.

have you ever wondered why?
Ok this is so wrong on many levels. Did you ever wash the bottom of the truck? Was it a plow truck ? Why wasn't it undercoated ? Chevy and Ford rust also. I see everyday how these trucks are treated and severe rust is usually caused by abuse. Was the vehicle ever washed and waxed ?

What casting setup(s) to add?
I would go with a mh fast for deep diving baits. Dobyns Sierra are nice and have a soft tip with a good backbone. Put a Lew's Bb1 6 ratio on it for deep cranks. Next would be a flipping /frog rod Dobyns Sierra 7-5 magnum heavy with a Lew's Bb1 7 ratio. If you go higher you can retrieve your bait quickly but in a fight it's more strain to reel with a big gear.if you have more money I'd go with a Lew's custom Lite.

have you ever wondered why?
Cams on Rams go bad from to much idle time and lack of oil change. Phasers hardly ever go bad. I've done a handful. A little wax and that truck is good to go. Truck would have done better with a good rustproofing when it was new and every few years after.

have you ever wondered why?
It was smooth and didn't make a lot of noise. All their other braids suck IMHO.

have you ever wondered why?
I loved that line. Don't know why they stopped making it.

have you ever wondered why?
my point was its not only line. its every product made. its not only fishing. its amazinghow the human perception of products can vary so much.
-
have you ever wondered why?
have you ever wondered why reviews on products vary so greatly between reviewers? it happens with all products but ill use fishing as an example. ill use fishing line as my example. it doesnt matter what line brand or type it is. one guy will love it and say its limp and casts great. the other will say its stiff and backlashes.one will say its low memory the other will say its got more memory than an elephant. one will say it shreads on rocks the next will say its highly abrasion resistant. it happens with rods and reels also. one mans pool cue is another mans best worm rod. i just really find it amusing.

How To Set Up Bait Cast Reel For Pitching ?
Spool tension so spool is loose and has no play. Brakes about half of casting.when you get better loosen them up more.

Swimbait line question
I've never had it be stiff. It's definitely not a soft spinning reel mono. I wouldn't put it on a spinning reel in any pound test. It's definitely not as stiff as pure flouro lines. it still gives some stretch but is way more sensitive than regular mono.I love the stuff.
-
Swimbait line question
25 lb Sufix advance mono.. Stretch's 10 percent in my tests. Regular mono is 20 to 30 percent. Knot broke at 28 lbs.. 10 feet stretched 12 inch's when knot broke. At lower pressure stretch was much lower.

LMB without the black stripe?
Yes they do change color. Its to make them harder to see.

LMB without the black stripe?
Nice fish

Rapala DT
The only time I've had them break is after rock crashing casts that did damage to the bill. I've never broken a dt crank bill fishing it into boulders. Also if a crank get snagged and you keep yanking on it you're breaking it. Back up and pop it lose from the backside. Dt crankbaits catch lots of fish.

Better rod w/ similar action to Sierra line
Try braid or Sufix advance mono.. also use..a trailer hook
