  1. Both good rods. Both great service. I think Dobyns has the edge in service and balance. Can't really go wrong with either in any price range.
  2. Definitely think my Dobyns are better than my falcons at the same price point.
  3. Put a trailer hook on. You are also putting to much pressure on the fish. If it starts to come up keep the line tight and shove the rod into the water.
  4. I love Johnny Morris Signature series rods.
  5. Extreme reels were never a step above the pro qualifier. They were the step below. Good reels back in the 90s.
  6. I thought it was great on all fronts except stretch. Definitely good for the money.
  7. Eva is the least sensitive IMHO. It feels cheap to me. I don't like Wynn grips.Love cork.
  8. Use Sufix advance mono it has half the stretch of regular mono. I tested it.its true.Flouro stretches just as much as mono and does not recover when stretched. It doesn't stretch much until you really pull on it but it does stretch!!!
  9. Dobyns all the way. Lifetime warranty. Great rods.
  10. Vicious No Fade Braid in 50 LB or Sufix Advance Mono in 20.
  11. And how is your spool tension set ? How is your magnetic brake set.
  12. Gotcha. I imagine when the plate is retracted and you have more clearance it may happen.
  13. The only noise I've had is from the brake casting only. The lube gets rid of it.no rattles or loose handles.
  14. Send it back. Don't take it apart. Get another one..
  15. its a shallow spool custom lite with tanso frame. its a super high tech graphite.my custom lites outcast my brother in laws alderbaren. definately will buy one when i can.I don't think the price is way out of line at all.
  16. lews tournament pro or bb1 pro on a dobyns sierra 7mh .
  17. How about the straight braid knot or the straight yozuri knot. Both are simple and won't slip.
