  1. Night fishing is the best!! ? and beer and fishing go together like peanut butter and jelly.
  2. Give up a little info and I’m sure folks will provide some great tips. What lures are you throwing? Describe the bodies of water you’re fishing? What part of the country are you located in? figuring out where to cast/where the fish are is the most important thing.
  3. Nice work!! You should post this on the Eastern mass thread. Bunch of guys regularly fish the quabbin.
  4. I would switch out the trebles for a single hook on a couple lures. And use straight braid. No snap.
  5. I love my plastics…. Big trd senko t-rig weightless (and wacky) creature bait. Jika rig zoom worm on shaky head Brush hawgs on c-rig max scent on the drop shot tubes, flukes and big ass Curley tail worms….oh my!!
  6. My favorite spinning reel is the diawa em-ms. And this is coming from a shimano guy. The bang for the buck is amazing. It’s a jdm reel but I bought my first one from TW one close out for less than $150, couple others I bought from a jdm company around $170.
  7. I take a small cooler with 3 or 4 frozen 16oz waters, 3 or 4 pickled eggs and a pb&j sandwich. I also got a 40 oz thermos with water for backup…….and a couple Pbr’s.
  8. 3 bags??? that looks like torture!!! I couldn’t do that. Nice fish!
  9. If you go with a backpack buy a real backpack. Not a fishing brand!! I bought a shimano years ago and it didn’t last. Fell apart after a couple seasons. I went out and bought a jansport backpack and it’s lasted almost 10 years with no issues: no rips, zippers work perfect.
  10. X2!!! I have a couple of these. They are exactly what you are looking for

  13. What hook you using for the mag drafts?
  14. Don’t buy a vanford (and that’s coming from a long time shimano fan boy). Buy yourself a jdm diawa. You will thank me later. only question is what rod you going to buy for it!!
  15. Kistler is having a buy one get one deal. just realized it’s only on certain rods.
  16. I was going to go out with this guy last year but I had to cancel my trip. check him out on Facebook. Lake Champlain angler fishing charters
  17. Lots of great info provided by the group to say the least!! I bought an olde town predator/pedal drive and I love it. It’s not light but I have a pickup so it’s easy to transport. #1. I would say definitely 1000% get a pedal drive #2. lots of good pedal kayaks out there. Do you have a place to test them out or at least sit in them. Make sure you like the seat positioning before buying #3. hobbies are great and are very expensive but they retain their value. #4. Not sure how far you have to transport your yak to the actual water or what shape youre in but dragging a 100 plus pound predator (on my c-tug wheels) 200 yards to the shoreline might not be easy for most. good luck!!
  18. I’m sativa only while fishing. Indica is for post fishing time!!
  19. listen to jigfishin. Stay at this place. Travis, the owner is a true inspiration/amazing person. https://lakesidelodging.com
  20. As @finessegenics says I would add a med light spinning set up for smaller swimbaits, ned rigs, micro jigs and wacky worms. And start throwing some jerkbaits!! good luck!
  21. I’d suggest trying to get (borrow) a kayak for the trip. Check out the lake map and fish the break lines. When are you going? Water temp/season will help decide what lures you want to throw. If you need a partner I’m available!!!????
  22. Good luck getting a bull shad. I tried but they were sold out quick by the goof balls who camped out the night before. They were selling them out front after they bought them. ?? Lots of great booths. FishyAF is a great local company. Great hats / shirts. Make sure you get some pickles!!
  23. I’ve been told they aren’t and it says that on their website but that’s not why I wouldn’t buy one today…..it’s the price point and I think they could use better quality cork. “KISTLER has partnered with multiple elite carbon factories across the globe. These well-established carbon experts have exceeded Trey Kistler’s demands for excellence in terms of quality control, consistent actions and power as well as durability.”
