Daiwa is simply smoother than Shimano now
I don't own any higher end Shimanos, but the two Tat 80's I have are noticeably smoother than the 3 Curados I picked up recently. Everyone is giving the OP a hard time, but on the Tackle Tour forums, the Micro Module gears get bashed routinely.

Obscure Zoom baits
Word. I was definitely going to grab some...they are under $3 a pack. The original 6" g-tail worm is a keeper...Clausen won the classic in Florida using one years ago. Lol...earned you a 'solution'.

Obscure Zoom baits
Right on. The Magnum finesse worm looks like a a small stick bait and I'd imagine you'd fish it in similar situations.

Obscure Zoom baits
I have a 20% off e-coupon from Academy and looking to take advantage of their cheaper Zoom prices. There are numerous Zoom soft plastics I haven't tried. Do you fish any less popular Zoom's? Some I'm looking at- -Mag shakey tail -G tail ring worm -Magnum fluke -Magnum finesse worm -Fluke stick -Original 6" Zoom worm

I have deprioritized hook setting. How about you?
"What are you looking at eyebrows?!" Lol . I'm a mono/copoly/fluoro mainline guy, so I set the hook with authority to overcome line stretch.

Do you need a dedicated jerkbait rod or can your MH “do everything” rod serve this purpose just fine?
I've got 6' and 6'3". I still get good casting distance with a 3k size reel.

Baitcaster already damaged
I preach that stuff goes to the garage to die. Critters, bugs, other people, humidity and temperature fluctuations ruin stuff.

Hello from Houston, TX where I'm literally a fish out of water!
Howdy! The bass bait monkey will be on your back shortly.

Lucky Craft LV-500
'Skeets Magic' is referring to the color. That is the standard version that has been around almost 20yrs.

I also prefer a spinning rod. Shorter M/Fast 1/4-5/8oz is ideal for me.

“micro” jigs
Utah?! You trying to have more than 1 wife?

Ribbon tail worm
I fished a Culprit for years before I saw on the packaging how it should be T-rigged. Culprit says to rig it with the hook in the side...the side with the tail bend. Makes sense.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Picked up two 13 fishing Envy Black 3 crankbait rods and a couple ebay finds. Rods are 7'4" MH rated 1/4-1.5oz. Weighed 132g on my new scale. Stole them @ $109/each. 13 totally copied the BLX limber line on these with 5A cork and similar blanks. *Edit- I took a pic of the '46T' logo because I believe it was meant for the standard Envy 3. The crankbait series is supposed to be a 30T Toray T glass blank. BDS4's in Tenn Shad and skeet MR in red river craw.

shortest, high-end, flipping pitching rod
They make a 6'5"XH in the Poison Glorious line. I have the 7'4" version. It is a moderate tapered powerhouse you can use for swimbaits, dragging football jigs, and pitching/flipping. https://jpangler.com/index.php/shimano-21-poison-glorious-165xh-sb.html

Your Opinion
Line stretch is noticeable to me and the reason I choose Pline CXX. You just have to deal with line stiffness/memory if you want a lower stretch mono/copoly.

Fall bait recommendations
Topwater wins the majority of fall tournaments around here.

The latest sale thread
Some bargains. I picked up the envy 3 Cranker...a steal. Sierra requires an $89 purchase for free shipping. https://www.sierra.com/s~13-fishing/

Zoom Wec lures
William Edward Chambers (WEC...founder of Zoom soft baits) died like 7 years ago, but somehow Simmons is still selling new WEC's on Ebay. I have quite a few that I don't fish, but that may change

Help me get in the right direction here fellas..
An easy casting 12lb* mono is the easy answer, but my jig vs topwater line preference is quite different. *American 12lb. 16lb if Japanese
