How many people on here own a Curado 70 that is still smooth after a season or more of use? I have found one for 50% off, but need reassurance about the gears holding up.

I guess it depends on the model/ price. I do have 4 Rhodiums I picked up when the Yen fell. They weren't 'just a Tatula' I found out. I did shake my head when I saw this on ebay. NRX is definitely the benchmark. We really need a rod 'dyno' that shows sensitivity in black and white. We need to be where we are with cars, such as " I know your turbo '91 camaro is as fast as my c10 z06...but my vette is much nicer/better built." Since sensitivity can't be proven, the super expensive JDM rods like the EG Insparares are touted as the best in every category by the guys who shell out for them.

Loomis mbr 843 will throw a 1/2oz chatter+ trailer as well as a 1.5 squarebill no problem.

That thing looks pretty dang nice. Weight is right up there with sensitivity for me. TW has $1k Evergreen Synergy rods I wouldn't even sniff at the JDM price because of high weight (7'M 1/4-1oz = 6oz!)

Love the Zorro short arm- the weed guard gives me the confidence to fish it in brush. I've pitched it, but haven't tried skipping it.

My brother just picked up the Legend Elite panfish...loves it. He also raves about his Phenix panfish rod.

I'd get a $99 Ark rod like the Cobb, and a Tatula 100 or CT.

A shame. Their baits don't get talked about a lot on here, but they have some killer offerings. I stocked up during the 1/2 off christmas sale in '22. GSM should try and buy that brand.

It's great...and tiny. I like a compact reel, but I have XL hands, and need a little more reel to palm for bottom contact. I use my 80's for smaller moving baits. If you get one, you'll end up with the other eventually. The new '24 is quite a bit smaller than the '19 model. I was pretty surprised when I held one at the classic expo.

Those old Light and Tough, TD (S?) green rods, and the Cielo rods all have a small folliwing of guys that still live them. If it is new or mint, you could get up to $80 from the right buyer.

I remember the Berkley Lightning rods being $38.96 at Walmart in 1991. They were considered good rods.

Yes. I have an Academy brand h20 Ethos (gen 1) 7' MH (1/4-1oz) casting rod that features a 30T blank, Fuji ECS seat, and fuji stainless steel guides w/ Alconite rings. It's 'light and right' imo...probably a 4.2oz stick. Retailed for $59 in 2012. Just can't find a reason to get rid of it.

Great rods. Still popular in Oklahoma, albeit not quite like they were. Jason Christie uses them exclusively, and I don't think he's missing any bites.

I've purchased several rods from them. They have the best selection, but aren't the cheapest.

I use this one as well. Mine is a Falcon brand, and is 20yrs old. Plano may have stopped making them...they are on clearance. Going to order a spare...love this box.

Just purchased a pile of 6" zoom lizards from academy after I saw they had risen to $4.29 a pack at walmart. They will always work...the OG creature bait.
