  1. A Yamamoto Pro (don't remember his name) said he would fish the 6" or 8" grub on a 1oz football head and 'just reel it as fast as I can'. He said it would produce a vapor trail of silt and ricochet off rocks/laydowns. This was before 8+ speed reels, but you get the idea. The Yamamoto 6" grub was my 'worm' for several years before they discontinued it.
  2. The pics are nice, but seems to be more scrolling. I guess I just don't like change.
  3. As Pat said, your best bet is to have them made.
  4. I see now where you can scroll down and see all the models. Still don't like it. Selecting a rod was easier before you needed to fill out a form to select your rod.
  5. Really disappointed to see TW has changed their website format again. I always snickered at the other fishing websites that wouldn't let you survey all the rod models, and instead wanted you to 'pick a rod length'...then pick rod power, etc. Like Bass Pro does. Now TW is this way. I fricken HATE it. This eradicates shopping for a rod model that catches your eye
  6. You did good on those clearance LC's for sure. IMO no jerkbait arsenal is complete without Smithwick rattlin' rogues and rapala x-raps ?.
  7. I use them for small moving baits. I'm sure it would do well with topwater, but I use a little shorter rod for that. Buying a 2.5 power megabass rod labeled as a 'slow' tapered rod was a gamble at the time. The blank is actually crispy with a seemingly fast tip, but with a slower transition to full power.
  8. I'll second this...I bought a second Kasumi a few months ago.
  9. 12lb Pline CXX (.0148 ") generally, but will go up to the .016" 15lb for thick brush.
  10. I guess they'll build it after the strike?
  11. I'd get the 7' Medium power (1/8-3/4). It has the ideal bait weight range for an all-arounder. The 6'6"M I own is fast and crispy for good hooksets.
  12. I have some of the finesse worms collecting dust. Just too difficult to get them on a hook.
  13. I'd get the Tat. It will have the power you wan with good sensitivity. I own the 6'6" M and enjoy it.
  14. I see you like redheads
  15. I will be picking up that 7-4" phenix bfs rod at christmas. Tackle Tour just reviewed them btw.
  16. Ott Defoe uses a 9ft ml carbonlite rod for his 1/16oz hair jigs (10lb braid/6lb fluoro leader). He says the 9ft rod (actually a steelhead rod) is key to getting good distance.
  17. I say try it out and find out first hand. The last state tourny I fished was on a river in late September, and a pop-r took the win.
  18. It is legal in Oklahoma for medical use. You see a doctor...get the referral...and then you get your cannabis patient card. I am allowed to have 6 mature plants and 6 seedlings growing at any time. I grow 3 plants a year outdoor, and yield 1.5-2lbs per plant. Cannabis is no different than alcohol or junk food....moderation is key. Here is one of my plants (super lemon haze) about halfway done flowering.
  19. Yeah...2 TD's in 16 seconds of game time IIRC. I don't usually speak nicely of the shorthorns though. My soul needed a quality CFB game...and I got one.
  20. CBS Sports has Texas going from #11 to #3.
  21. Entertaining game. My Sooners better pack a lunch when the OU-Texas game happens in a few weeks.
  22. I have the imx-pro 864 deep flax, and will pick up the 866 over Christmas. I think this series is the best cranking rods Loomis has ever built.
  23. There is no Metanium 70....only the 100/150.
  24. Black Label. Cliff Pace purchased Ed Chambers (WEC) balsa duplicaters (made by Lee Sisson) and started Black Label baits. They are great baits for $17.99. Wood Bait Country has several quality bait makers you can check out, and they give detailed descriptions of how the baits run. They carry the Black Label 'signature series' ($19.99), which are the same models with a higher-end paint job. https://www.woodbaitcountry.com/
