That's crazy expensive. My Pelican has a 50lb minn kota that ran me $250 including the $100 battery. I will be adding a second trolling motor and battery this year and ditching my paddle.

I read where a pro (don't remember who) say that they used a swivel with suspending jerkbaits to get the nose down on the pause. So maybe your bait is behaving correctly. My Yozuri jerkbaits have a swivel attached already.
