Featured Replies

What trailers you guys and gals suggest for this jig. 1/8oz w/rubber/silicone skirt. Im looking for trailers outside of pork or a mini chunk.

Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver or Smallie Beaver, depending on the size of the jig. Or XZone Finesse Muscleback Craw. And if you wanna get matchy matchy with the colors (I think I see purple in there)...

1/8 jig hook size is #1? This limits most craw/creatures trailers.

Take a look at Double Z T-rig floating worm. Cut the worm 3 1/2” long and split the tail 2” using a safety razor.

Tough to beat twin tail.  I like GYCBs, but for smaller jigs I prefer Keitech or Reins.  Theyre much lighter which I think gives smaller jigs a little better action when dragging them.

Damikis Air Craws are great too and I really like Jackalls 3.5 Chunk Craws

This,^^^^ they make a Zoom lil' critter craw in black with red claws. I have caught many fish with that color.

I’m using a Pee Wee jig that has similar configuration.  A Yamamoto 4 inch twin tail and very small beaver are what’s working best for me.

I'm often less is more for trailers.   I find myself using Manns Classic Spinnerbait trailers on all kinds of stuff.   Zoom split tail is a similar trailer.   If I think I need more trailer I'll use a Berkley Boss Grub.  IIRC they're available in 3" and 4" length.

I use real pork but mostly during the Summer.   I'm going to move out of my comfort zone this Winter and try real pork on some heavier jigs.   I "think" my tiny cold water trailers are allowing a faster rate of fall.   A bigger/heavier jig, with a bigger trailer might fall at the same rate, and trigger more strikes, from bigger fish.

I'm not an expert.

Don’t overlook a small ribbon tail worm as a trailer on finesse jigs.

I love the smaller lizard and baby brush hog just the very back half on a finesse jig.

Be a rebel, and fish it without a trailer.  The bass police are on holiday, this is your chance to give it a try.

SK Baby Bug, Net Bait Tiny Paca Cunk, 3in DoLive Beaver.  I also have one special jig like that from Keitech that I will wacky rig a senko on. It's odd but it works.
