What are your heaviest powered rods?
I use several heavy rods, and use them mainly for bottom contact baits when others would probably use a MH. I fish copoly/fluoro, and want the extra power to compensate for line stretch.

Best JDM spinning reel around $200
I'd get the new Essence XR. Same internals as the Essence Mg, minus 2 bearings. https://japanlureshop.com/shimano-23-exsence-xr.html

ICAST 2023
Everybody copies new bait styles, but nobody has been able to mimic powerbait.

Do you find it difficult to work tubes properly from a kayak in a river?
I'd think.working jerkbaits and topwaters would be challenging while seated in a kayak cockpit, but not tubes.

Crappie pond
A couple years ago, I was surprised when I caught some crappie at a local pond while bass fishing. After catching 2 pretty quickly, I figured I'd keep the next couple and filet them. I had no stringer...I just put them in my cargo pockets. Showed back up at the housr with 3 crappie...enough to feed me and the wife.

Post a photo a day!
I eat a lot of bbq sandwiches, and I think the brioche bun changed the game....I spring for them everytime. My burgers always get them as well.

So what’s the verdict for stained water - do you want dark colors or bright colors?
I didn't either, but the last federation state tourney I fished was in chocolate milk water and I only had one fish. The winner had a limit he caught on a pop-r.

Zip tie skirt collars
When I started assembling jigs in '04, I went to my local hardware store to purchase wire to tie my skirts. They didn't have the wire I needed, so I found some 4" zip ties I already had, and decided to try them as a skirt collar. They worked well, and the zip tie buckle provided support that made my jigheads stand up. The colors are a nice touch as well. All walmart supercenters carry these ties in black, clear, and neon. Standing up... Laying on their side so you can see the buckle. You can turn the zip tie to where the buckle is under the weedguard if you want to maximize weedlessness. Heads on these jigs...

Jerkbait Spinning Rod Suggestions?
I have the Tatula 6'6" M (also 1/8-3/4) that I thought sounded like a great jerkbait rod. It turned out to be a little too stiff. I still haven't found the ideal rod.

I went from power fishing to just about 100% finessee
Finesse was A-Marts main game, and he did pretty well.

Texas rig plastic how to present it
If I'm trying to determine what depth the bass are holding...I'll work it back to the boat. If they are holding tight to shallow cover, I'll stroke my bait off the bottom after the intial fall...then reel in and repeat.

Your thoughts on this.
Agreed...you need to scrutinize your sources/info.

Your thoughts on this.
Some people don't realize they can google these '¹old wives tales' and see if they are true or BS. Usually the latter.

Charlie Brewer Weedless Slider Head
I use them, and I know what you are talking about regardind rigging. I usually have the hook point right underneath the plastic, so the worm is straight. The hook point doesn't allow for a traditional skin hook.

Dinkfest Tournament
I won a club tournament several years ago on a lake with a 12" minimum. I had the only 5 bass limit...it weighed 6.2lbs. Has to be some sort of record.

Soft Plastics Only
Yep...rigged a speed craw on a chompers jighead for a dad and 5yr old son at a local pond last year. The dad caught his pb 2 casts later (looked to be 4.5ish lbs). He felt like 'the man', and so did I ?

Jigs - rattle/no rattle
I like a rattle inserted in my trailer...not those rubber tassle deals.
