my Nasci gets an upgraded Rod the IMX Pro SJR901S
Imx-pro's are nice. I do hate that they had to add the 'pro' to the imx name. I guess loomis screwed up the previous imx refresh so bad they litetally had to change the name ?

ICAST 2023
Yeah, someone posted on Tackle Tour's forums that their recently purchased JDM steez rod said 'assembled in china' on it. I wouldn't be surprised if Shimano follows. Hope not!

Big Bite Baits Acquired by GSM Outdoors
I can't knock a small company for selling....entrepreneur's feel like they can pocket the cash and start another company. Gary Loomis did this ?️

Lew’s LFS Weird TW Packaging
This makes me think they were refurbished or something. I've never purchased a reel without paperwork in over 40 years of buying reels. I had two cell phones replaced with refurbished reels that were mint, but came with no paperwork.

Lew’s LFS Weird TW Packaging
I bet it didn't leave the manufacturer like that. I'd wager it was a return. I'd keep it if it seemed unused and problem-free.

Barbs
I have started to pinch down barbs. I lost a chunk of my eyesight a few years ago, and it was difficult to remove hooks deep in the throat.

4 Worms for Summer Fishing
I was a little surprised he runs fluoro with fluoro leader for c-rigs. Not that my cxx leader makes my bait float up, but I feel it may hover a little better when I lift my sinker from time to time.q

Old vs new technology Shimano’s
Those old mg50's are fantastic...had 4 of them back in '04. I think Shimano could rerelease them with success.

Replacing split rings and hooks, a cautionary tale
I've never had a split ring fail, but I keep my drag set trasonably loise with moving baits.

An interesting bait lot
Searched ebay for older Bagley B 1's & 2's and picked up an interesting bait lot for $16. I just wanted the older B1, but figured a couple of the baits could be serviceable. I replaced the melted hula popper skirt with a firetiger terminator. The bomber long A and unknown crankbait appear to be hand painted. Old jointed rebel minnow should work with new hooks. Don't know what the other 2 baits are.

Rod Selection: The Basics
He didn't say 3 setups work for him....he has many, many more he utilizes. He is simply saying you can 'make it happen' with the 3 he recommended.

WIYB
I seem to collect rods and reels, so combos vary from trip to trip. I always have my pliers, slime towel, plug knocker, and knife with me. I use a few lines, but CXX is a mainstay.

Favorite Flipping Jigs ?
I like to maximize the 'Getting a bite after making contact with cover' game. I use a football jig for everything but the thick stuff, and try to strike every stump/laydown I come across.

An article about the men who hunt for the biggest bass
I may be opening a can of worms, but I was turned off regarding these record hunters when I learned they just search for and camp out on beds. I remember Dottie and the guy who foul hooked her supposedly calling his attorney regarding getting her certified.

Color you wish more companies would make in soft plastics
Tomato red....a nice bright opaque red color.

i can name my SINGLE favorite bass fishing technique. (to help me shop)
After reading TT's comments on the recently reviewed p5 BMG...I'd skip the P5 for bottom contact, and go with an upper end Loomis. Sensitivity: I feel as though everyone today is looking for electric sensitivity in their fishing rod. Especially if the rod in question is at or above a certain price threshold. At just under $500, the BMG likely meets that threshold for many and if that's your expectation, I can tell you right now those expectations will not be met with the BMG. At the same time, I can also tell you that you will not have any issue sensing the bite with this stick.
