  1. I like me some LJ's. When they came out around '06, they were $7 ?. Now they're over $13 , but that's another topic.
  2. Going to hook my brother up with some confidence inspiring cranks. He is mostly a crappie guy, but he chases bass a few times a year. Give me your shallow, mid, and deep sure bet cranks. So far I've got... LC RC .7, LC skeet mini MR, and LC mini DR.
  3. Only for C-rigs and drop shots.
  4. Received my TW order. My .99 cent hooks feel great...sticky sharp conical points reminiscent of Owner. They wanted $8 a pack when they came out last year. I picked up 8x #6, 4, and 2 sizes of the short shank EWG's...wish I would have bought more. Couldn't pass up some Stanley dirty water spinners for $5 a pop...and a cpuple of KJ Flats.
  5. The new owners at Yamamoto should have kept the Japanese inspired packaging.
  6. Owner st-36 and gammy ewg's are my favorites. Just ordered some different hooks to try....hooks have gotten better across the board imo.
  7. I have imx-pro cbr's (864/903) and several nrx's. Glx reel seat wasn't right for my hand. The 844 is an mbr and has a little tip action, but it is stout enough that I wouldn't use it for chatterbaits. 843 mbr can do chatterbaits and swim jigs up to 1/2oz, and heavier topwaters like a spook. IMX-pro would work fine, but with christmas sales coming...you may look for a deal on an nrx for that added feel.
  8. I have the gen 1 873, and I feel it's a little too stiff for spinnerbaits/chatters.
  9. If using it for bottom contact, you should choose a reel that palms well for you. I have a 13 concept z on my Poison Glorious XH. The reel is small/palms well and can hold a good amount of heavy line. Small framed reels allow me to get all my fingers in front of the trigger for more power and control.
  10. Sweet. I've been wanting that 843s for a while. I want a powerful spinning rod for worms. The conquest could stick around...
  11. I use 8lb Pline CXX...a .012" diameter line.
  12. I wonder if the conquest will get the '21 Glorious blank upgrade and become the Conquest+. I don't know how well the Conquest is selling. It could go away...

Good article I saw on FB today... https://www.whiskeyriff.com/2022/09/08/john-daly-talks-about-drinking-35-40-beers-a-day-then-whiskey-and-not-sobering-up-until-the-13th-hole/?fbclid=IwAR2kIwpoN1uAOwMExh39c_0iRRtHRPLcaZOVmxqFBhEBW0Hq3-avXJbnXak
  14. That article called it 'sexual cannibalism', lol
  15. I'd get the jdm zillion. Sure the Met is close in price, but daiwa has their braking system so dialed in, it's the most user friendly of all the brands.
  16. Don't they eat their mate?
  17. Looks like my home lake came in at #14 (Grand Lake). It was on the news a week ago or so when KVD paid a chunk of $ to help stock the lake. He said "This lake has been very good to me...I've won several events here and wanted to give back to the lake." Pretty cool. Fishing pressure is always bad on Grand...but the lake seems to always cough up me some bass or crappie.
  18. I remember A-Mart saying that as the water gets warmer, the shorter his leader gets. Same with a c-rid.
  19. While they seem like a decent idea...this hook line apparently went over like a lead balloon. Tackle Warehouse is nearly giving them away. I thought the short shank EWG's looked do-able, and I added several packs of each size to my cart. Checked my cart and it said I qualified for a 'quantity discount, and were showing .99 cents. Anyway...anybody tried them, or am I the guinea pig? https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Trapper_Tackle_EWG_Short_Shank_Treble_Hooks/descpage-TSST.html
  20. I forgot about the p5...which I have a couple of, but they are not bottom contact rods. @FishTank....do you think the evolution blank is superior to the p5? Evolution is certainly a nicer build I'll say.
  21. I have nrx and poison glorious sticks. They are both great and each model excels at something different. As far as usdm rods....the nrx probably has the best blend of weight, sensitivity, taper, and warranty. That's why they are so popular.
  22. I'd think the tiny steez ct spool would equate to coily line with higher lb test.
  23. Me too. I'm from Tulsa, and my aunt worked for zebco. I was a Quantum man, and got a pro staff deal when I was 15. I used pro 1c's a and pro 3c's paired with quantum tour edition rods. Before that it was 1310's and had the 3.8 gear crankin' model as well.
  24. Love me some horny toads. The best part is not having to 'walk' them. Just reel them back in and bam!
