Oval split rings??
Last 3 years I went to using snaps, took off all the oval and rounds ring. I use the ones that look like as paper clip. Never had a problem with them.

Warming Trend Tactics
I fished that warm streak 5 days ago. The air temp was 74 and the water temp was 55-59. I fish docks and riprap. This time of year I fish nothing but riprap mainly because they pull the water down and there are not much water around the docks. Also, I think the water temp gets warmer around the rocks.I caught 9 fish in about 4 hours, started a 1pm and quit about 4. 2 big fish, 4 keepers, and 4 dinks.I caught them all on a crankbait. I was cranking at normal speed, with a few pauses. Come on spring!!!

Split or full grip
I don't have a favorite. I think my rods are probably half and halve. If the rod does what I want it to for a particular lure, it don't matter which handle is on it but I do prefer it to be cork.

I carry a floor jack, 4 way lug wrench (fits truck and trailer), jumper cables, jump box, bearings, seal, hammer, piece of wood, gloves, towels. Hope I never use any of it!!!

How often should…
To be totally honest, I never sharpen my hooks. If it is a hook on a crankbait, I change them out. On a worm hook, I throw it away and get a fresh one. Any other bait, I just throw it and set the hook hard. I guess this comes from getting old!!!

Wheel locks, do you use them?
I got locks for my truck and trailer, got some fairly nice rims for the trailer and would hate to see them gone. I keep my spare for the trailer in the bed of the truck, it has a hard cover.

Speed Clips
This is what I use. Once said I would neve use a snap, tried it 3 years ago and now I use it on all my crankbait rods. I think I catch more fish because I can take off a crank and have another on in 6 seconds. I don't ever remember losing a fish because of the snap and really don't think it changes the action.

backing up the boat trailer
If I had to look back to back a trailer, it would take a while. I learned to back using mirrors. Worked for a public electrical utility for 41 years and backing a trailer is just something you have to learn. Just seems natural to me now.
